Given how common they are, Phantoms are just...cheap. The speed and flipping, the at-will invisibility that makes half your attacks miss her completely, the instakill that triggers if you try to revive near her, the obscene damage output (powerful ranged attack, powerful melee attack, and instakill)...fighting them isn't even fun on higher difficulties, when there are five coming from every direction. So, maybe...

-Change it so her instakill doesn't trigger if you get revived near her
-Reduce movement speed
-Reduce gun damage
-Make her work like Hunters, where she can't cloak if she has no Barriers

Any one of these would make my blood pressure drop fifty points. Anybody else agree?

I vote for #3. Her gun damage is WAY too powerful. It'll kill you in like 3-5 hits on Silver.

Stasis destroys phantoms... Energy Drain isn't bad either...

I like a challenge.

Dumbing down my gaming experience has been done enough over the past 10 years.

That said, invisibility being impossible without Barriers? Could be an interesting change but it's not like she's hard to hit & stagger if you keep your eyes on her.

It's not like they're OP as Original Sin though. Stasis, Biotic Charge, a good headshot...go down like any other enemy, really. You just can't "spray & pray".

Leave her alone. This one unit is the only reason Cerberus offers any challenge at all.

@OP:
Your 4th point is rubbish. If she works as hunters, she may as well cloak all the times unless she attacks. How nerfed will that be hmm? You will get stabbed by phantom before you know it, for you will never see her coming. You are only talking about the hunter part that works for you. Rubbish, just rubbish. I will say, learn to play.

Get a Geth Plasma Shotgun.

Watch as the Phantoms melt before you.

This. Without the Phantom being what she is (and turrets), Cerberus would be an absolute joke.

I haven't had any issue with Phantoms in a long, long time, personally. And in my experience they hardly ever even use their cloak ability unless their barriers have been destroyed anyway.

I do feel that their ranged attack is a bit too strong, though. A small reduction in the damage that does seems like it would be reasonable.

I think Phantoms are fine, but I agree; their palm gun is redicilous.

Something is WRONG when I fear their palm gun more than I fear the Nemsis, who's supposed to be a specialized sniper.

Phantoms shouldn't be better at sniping than a bloody Nemesis!

All that's wrong with hunters is them going non-corporeal when cloaked. Powers passing right through them is more cheap than anything in Phantom's bag of tricks.

Agree with this point entirely. Another thing that really bothers me is when I play with my turian, they hit me with that magic palm even when I am in cover (probably cos of that stupid sticking out of cover) which the nemesis cannot achieve...

Or simply use fitness! Besides, she only cloaks if she is out of barriers.

Phantoms are fine. Although, on gold, my friends and I have been noticing an increased resistance to stasis. Phantoms just don't stay stasis'd long, not even long enough to get biotic comboed.

Salarian Infiltrator takes care of them pretty easily, and just about everything else too, including Phantoms. But this is with a Claymore X after a cloaked energy drain. xD

You do realize that your kinetic barriers and biotic barriers are there to protect you from a mistake you made, not to let you stand out in the open like it's COD and be a bullet sponge. This being said here are a few tips for dealing wih then: use stasis followed by a few head shots but keep in mind stasis will only work twice; energy drain and overload work wonders against her barriers; allow her to close distance and then when she is about 4 to 6 feet away hit her with the claymore or geth shotgun; if all else fails put a missile up her ***!

Phantoms are fine. They're needed by Cerberus to flush you out of cover because the Guardians certainly aren't going to do that. They aren't going to be able to flush you out of cover if they aren't threatening to be around.

Energy drain/overload+reave tech burst or stasis+whatever biotic explosion you feel like greatly reduce the effects of the speed, flipping, and invisibility, since they aren't reliant on tracking (if it is invisible, target something nearby with the set up power to hit with the AOE).

Tell your team not to revive you.

-Reduce movement speed

She is not that fast.

-Reduce gun damage

Play bronze.

-Make her work like Hunters, where she can't cloak if she has no Barriers

Unlike Hunter she is uncloaked for the most part - she is already nerfed.

While I like a challenge, I have to say facing six phantoms in one wave on Gold is too much. Her gun needs to be dumb down just a bit, it's ridiculous how powerful it is and how it totally degrades your shields and health.

Pretty much anything on gold wrecks your shields in a hurry if you let it hit you.

6 phantoms isn't that bad if you have some form of CC to take the heat of your team, you just need to be coordinated. Also anything on gold will pretty much get rid of your shields.

P.S: Phantoms are also one of the loudest mobs in the game, they aren't that hard to spot or find.

Ya she's a pain and her pea-shooter is incredibly strong, but they are really the only unit that gives people pause. This is especially true if the team facing her happens to lack any heavy firepower/abilities (namely an Asari for stasis). But she is manageable, it just takes some thought process to find alternative ways of dealing with her.

But try to have sympathy, people xD a lot of you are talking about stasis, but you can't assume that every game will have an Asari on hand to deal with the Phantom. I can see why the OP wants a nerf to the annoying little ninja =P
