If you nerf Phantoms, Cerberus becomes a joke. Unless they seriously buff Nemesises (sp?) to make up for it. Though that honestly sounds much worse. Nemesis who actually shoot twice as often and with greater accuracy? Eek!


Concussive shot + Claymore = Dead Phantom...

If you're just trying to bolster your l33t credentials then harrass someone else.  If my first post was unclear I doubt you'll understand a second explanation any better.

Because insulting someone instead of explaining the contradiction makes you right.  Right?

Phantoms are pretty balanced. That's what I say. Remove/nerf phantoms and cerberus becomes a joke. Similarly, remove/nerf banshees and reapers are a joke. These enemies are designed as cover busters, so that you can't sit at one point and pick off pot shots at every enemy safely. They are supposed to keep the players on their toes.

Not that I think phantoms need to be nerfed.


Their palm-laser should deal half the damage it does now - then it would be ok. No need to nerf melee, being careful is usually enough, but if more than one phantom is shooting at you they can take out 2-3 players before anyone can do anything. It is even worse on gold.

Yep the Phantoms ranged attack is just too powerful on anything above bronze, most of my attacks also seem to not have an effect at all on her but I guess that's down to me being a less than average player :P

To be fair, if you get some good cover going, Geth can quickly turn into a Grab fest of insta-kills. Which can be fun, but less then intimidating.

Even on Bronze I've watched 3 Phantoms overwhelm a team unexpectedly.

Just the other day I had a single Phantom negate my Warp FIVE times in a row.  Flip, barrier/hunker down, flip, barrier/hunker down, flip.... at this point, my squadmates showed up and took out the Phantom in about 3 seconds because she was the only enemy left.  I would have run to get away from her, but I only had one blip of life left and a single blast from her Hand of God takes out my shields.  The next would kill me.  And I was in a bad place to try running.

Still....  FIVE attacks in a row?  Granted she didn't really get any closer to me, but... wtf?  lol

Hmm. Well, all they can do right now is buff the damage, health points and movement speed. I don't like those. They should introduce some new type, a cover buster unit for geth too.

Drones would make great cover busters, just like husk pile up on you drones could flank you and shock you.

Actually they could tweak how easily they are lured in by a decoy, and how long they just stand there attacking it like retards.  And outside of the Decoy exploit, and the grab exploit, Geth are arguably the toughest faction.

happens aswell if someone resses you runs off banshee/phantom comes around the corner as your getting up and get instakiled.
OT: i think the dmg on the palmgun is fine as it is, but the frequenty they fire it is bordering ridiculous.

besides, every class can handle a single phantom, just force her into the nahnahnah cant touch me stance with a power and mow her down.

That palm hand gun like Destiny Gundam is out of control. Just like everything in gold I can't complain but you never see it coming on the console and it can two shot you from 100% to one bar of health. On silver even with a little in fitness you get creamed in about three shots to zero shields and three bars of health (you can actually see the damn thing coming on the PC).

Another issue with this unit is that if you're down and its on top of your body 9 times out of ten it'll one shot you during your getting up animation.

I'd go for lower damage on the 'mind bullets'.... and how about a new sound effect for those hand/mind bullets... they sound like a damn pee shooter atm. Make then sound cooler BW

Only thing i would be for is drop the gun damage they have on the higher levels. Ive seen krogan sents. get dropped with 3 shots from them before they even get near to use their swords

You have abilities that can counter act everything you explained. They should be left alone, they are an interesting enemy as is, dangerous, but feeble.

I would be fine with Phantom's hand cannon doing less damage... if Nemesis did more damage with their snipe.

My problem with the Phantom is that she's so damn inconsistent.

Have stasis? Easy kill. Otherwise, huge pain in the ass.

Have a vanguard? Easy kill 9 times out of 10. 1 out of 10, dead vanguard. Completely random.

Phantoms aren't that hard and hell, if it weren't for them, Cerberus would be even more toothless than it already is.  Instead of coming onto the forums to pine for a nerf for every enemy you don't understand how to fight effectively, perhaps you should reexamine your tactics.

Yeah, it would definitely be nice to see Nemesis being more of a, well, nemesis.  As is, Ravagers make them look like hopelessly incompetent snipers.
