Ok, before I buy this game I have a couple of questions and concerns that I've been reading.

What's the deal with this whole dlc thing? I know that all new copies come with the dragon age armor and shale DLC am I right?

Then why can't some people download it? Will it happen to me?

Also, what are some good online guides for this game? IGN's is incomplete I think. I can't find another one?

I'm getting the 360 version. I read in reviews that the 360 is a bit glitchy and the load times are long? I always install my games to my HDD, will this solve the problem? I know the graphics are not up to par as the PC sadly, but I'm fine with that!

Yea, if you could answer those that'd be appreciated.

I'm really excited to play it.

1) Yes
2) It depends on how reliable the EA servers are in your area. I've had no problem logging in and redeeming my codes.
3) I don't know but I highly recommend the official strategy guide found in stores.
4) I have the 360 version and it works fine. Just install it to the HDD for faster load times and better frame rates.

Sorry I can't afford a strat. guide because I'm saving up for the collector's one for ME2 and I pre-ordered the CE for ME2 O_O...heehee...

Yea, I live in up-state New York, guessing I won't have any trouble???

http://mycheats.1up...._age_origins/pc isn't bad from what I have seen but to be honest, rather than a walkthrough, experiment and play. It will last longer and be more enjoyable in the long run.

I live in California so I don't know how well the EA servers are behaving there.

I've had none of the problems people have described. Don't trust all the anecdotal nonsense, it'll work fine

I have finished the Xbox version and i encountered no problem with dlc´s at all and with the installed on the HD the load times are ridiculously short. The graphics might not be outstanding but they are good enough for you to forget "other games have better graphics"... anyways i liked the graphics well enough.

As for the strategy guide...  i don´t think you´ll need it that bad, maybe you´ll miss some secret thingy or too but the game explains itself pretty well... just talk to every npc you see and read the codex :D

Anyway it´s too soon for a game that big to have complete online free guides already released but i recommend (for this game and many others) the page

www.gamebanshee.com

there you can find walkthrough, maps and tons of data about tons of rpg including dragon age. But now they are working on it so they just have part of the game.

I´m sure you´ll enjoy the game :o

just letting you know your in for a real treat! This game is better than Mass Effect. Mass Effect was boring and horrible. I hope part 2 does better....or I won't even get part 3.

It's actually not bad at all as far as that goes.  In Fallout 3 you could wander around aimlessly for a long, long time - DA:O is definitely more directed.  You'll have a sense of where you need to go/what you need to do, and it's particularly linear in the early going to get you used to the world.  I wouldn't worry about a guide, especially in the beginning.

I've finished one playthrough on the 360 and I'm about 1/4 through another one. I've had it freeze twice, which isn't bad considering that's for probably 80+ hours. The only DLC issue I've had is that the achievements that were earned for the DLC in the first 2-3 days don't register with Xbox. but they're working on fixing it and it shouldn't be a problem for anyone now.

I agree with Aidunno. Just explore on your own and you'll be fine. The game is pretty good about telling you what you need to know in your journal under Current Quests or the codex under Notes or Quest Related.

Most of the DLC problems are happening on the PC side because the DAUpdater service doesn't always install and start itself properly. You probably won't have any trouble on the 360.

Anyway, the Prima strategy book is really fantastic, but I highly recommend against using it for your first play through. In fact, don't even open it. You could be reading about something as innocent as gifts and have major plot points spoiled for you. I've never seen a book with so many spoilers! It's ridiculous! I had to shelve mine after it ruined a few things for me. I'm looking forward to using it on my 2nd play through to see what I missed.
