In retrospect, so much of the game feels unfinished.

Earth was rubbish. No trial.

So many of the missions were just scanning - point in case - the mission to get Elcor War Assets, I thought it would be a proper mission on the Elcor homeworld. It wasn't, all we got was some scanning. It was so much wasted potential.

Hardly any conversations with squadmates - what we had was good, but there wasn't much volume.

No use of ME2 squadmates - we should have had some as temporary squadmates

No hub worlds.

Earth Part 2 was also rubbish. I thought it'd be a suicide mission type thing but on a galactic scale. It wasn't just some battles on a horribly designed and textured "London"

And then the ending.

Would you preferred to have waited another 6 months to get more features, or have got it in March, and got what we did?

Just to add my voice: Yes. I would have waited another 6 years for a complete game rather than something served up piecemeal.

Too bad EA doesn't do the Bethesda thing and release "Game of the Year" collections with all the content on one disc.

The REAL important question is:

If you never knew about the endings 'controversy', would you have waited another 6-8 months for Mass Effect 3?

Actually, yes. My friends and I found it oddly suspicious when the original release date was 2011. That was less than 2 years after ME2. We were glad for the game's delay to March, honestly, because we thought they wanted everything polished and perfect. Too bad I was wrong. It's a great game, but in my opinion, the ending wasn't the only thing wrong with it. It definitely needed another year in my view.

Yeah, quite unfortunate that we thought like that back then. And now look where it landed. Hard to imagine what ME3 would've been like if it had been released in Hloiday 2011.

I have always held the opinion that it is better to wait for a good product then get an inferior product out the door quicker. Say what you will about Blizzard (and I know there is a lot that can be said about them but that isn't the point here), I have always admired the fact that they refuse to even speculate about release dates until they are happy that the product is close to completion.

It's definitely better to base the release date on the product rather than the product on the release date.

Yes. I would have waited till 2013 if I'd known how much was going to be cut.

As a publisher, this is how I make my announcements. When something is ready to publish, I let people know "It's ready, and you should be seeing it soon!" I don't make promises that I can't keep without risking a subpar product.

As long as I don't announce something too far ahead of release, people are generally fine with understanding that something is coming out later to ensure the quality rather than sooner to meet a release date.

I would've waited as long as it took, seriously. The more time they invested the better the game. Bioware games aren't like sports games that need to be cranked out yearly, they need time. But I think EA forgets that.

If it would have show the passion they had when they created ME-ME2, yes I would have waited. Since EA bought into Bioware their passion seems gone in their game development, and the games are rushed. Let's face it we were promised 2 years of DLC for DAO, Bioware canceled it early, their explanation, programming for DA2 was going so much faster than for DAO, when made the decision we would rather give you a full game VS more DLC.

Well we all now hoe that went they released no a full game, but a glorified expansion with a unfinished clunky combat system, a game world with more reused dungeon maps than I have ever seen in a game before, it took me longer to beat Awakenings than to beat DA2. I think it is safe to say that Bioware is not the same company as they used to be, in the past they used to love the games they made, not they just care about the money and how they can hype their sub-par game to maximize the profits at launch.

Yes. Definitely. I genuinely wish they'd have just said "Coming out in November 2012" from the beginning and given themselves more time.

I'd not have appreciated being made to wait at the time, but I would have appreciated it come November.

I would have waited as long as necessary for SP to be done and done right with proper endings and all the stuff the quotes promised.

I would always rather wait and get a finished product.

That said, I understand that games makers are businesses and that the mode of production impacts on the product.

That said, the ending really sucked.

I wouldve been really upset that I had to wait even longer but that would only last until the game came out. The ending upset me much more and that will last forever.

For a finished game where the creators can sit back look at eachother and go "you did good guys. you did good... I'm proud of you." I would happily wait knowing the outcome this game had.

The final battle, side mission, THE ROMANCES, ME2 squadmates, and most of all the ending all felt like they were rushed and needed more time. Time I would've waited.

I definitely would have waited. The whole game after Tuchanka felt rushed to me. I miss all the ME2 characters, it would've been nice if they were more than cameos.

Yeah, when I was looking through the character section of the strategy guide, I couldn't believe there were so few characters. Even ME1 had more party characters and more variety in them. It really felt like a huge shortcoming in the game.
