If you never knew about the endings 'controversy', would you have waited another 6-8 months for Mass Effect 3?

I would have honestly waited for as long as it took for Mass Effect 3 to be what we had experienced in the previous two games. Something that was meant to be so monumental should never be rushed.
Since it's release though, I can't help but feel like it shouldn't have been released when it was,
Those few games that broke the mould of their predecessor, were in a far longer development cycle than ME3 was, so why was the need to bring it out so immediate?? In this day and age, 2 years is nothing in the game making industry. Now not to say that a longer period helps a game (look at Duke Nukem Forever), but from what was left out of the final cut of ME3, it breaks my heart to think that it was rushed.
Lets face it, it WAS rushed. Were we as fans and loyal supporters of Bioware not faithful enough that they thought they had to get the game out a.s.a.p because we would have rioted in the streets otherwise??
We would have all waited as long as we needed to just as long as we were kept in the loop and we were reassured that everything was being scrutinised and painstakingly cared for in the final product.
I don't know, maybe I'm just saying this from my own perspective, 2011 was a very busy year for me after all.
But I think all of us would have been happy or at least understanding if there were delays and the game was going to be held back longer. We would have accepted that kinks needed to be worked out so that we could enjoy the BEST that Bioware had to offer.
i'm certainly not saying that ME3 was bad, I enjoyed a lot of it. But for something the developers claimed was their best game yet, in a lot of ways it just wasn't to the standard we had expected from the previous titles.
It was lacking in so many ways that just a little more patience and care would have resolved.
And now that I've said all this,,,,I need a drink.

Yes, we wait another 6 months to a year, meanwhile EA is paying all those millions of dollars in salaries and overhead. Why would they do that? Make an argument for it, but from a business stand point.
I'd say the business case would be that they don't spend those millions anyway trying to fix a rushed release.
Bad press, all the fallout, loss of credibility etc. This is probably going to cost them twice as much in the long run as it would have cost doing it right first time.

Most definitely. I was actually rather surprised it came out as soon after ME2 as it did.
Yep, that's what I thought.
I would have waited, no doubt.

I would have waited another three years for a better game. I would have waited as long as it took. In fact, if Bioware right now recalled all the games, I'd gladly send them my copy and say, "Take as long as you need. I'm fine waiting. Please, just... make this right."

In retrospect, so much of the game feels unfinished.
Earth was rubbish. No trial.
So many of the missions were just scanning - point in case - the mission to get Elcor War Assets, I thought it would be a proper mission on the Elcor homeworld. It wasn't, all we got was some scanning. It was so much wasted potential.
Hardly any conversations with squadmates - what we had was good, but there wasn't much volume.
No use of ME2 squadmates - we should have had some as temporary squadmates
No hub worlds.
Earth Part 2 was also rubbish. I thought it'd be a suicide mission type thing but on a galactic scale. It wasn't just some battles on a horribly designed and textured "London"
And then the ending.
Would you preferred to have waited another 6 months to get more features, or have got it in March, and got what we did?
Yes. Waiting is always preferable if it means a better, more polished game and story.
