I honestly expected a 2013 release date when I beat 2. I still feel it should have been then.

I agree, but you know why it got rushed the way it did. Everyone does.

For sure. It isn't that hard to wait for a videogame (unless you're like 85 years old)

I would have waited as long as it took. It works for Blizzard. Why not Bioware?

I could wait as long as it takes, as long as i got someting in reward. Something that explains the plotholes.

Most definitely. I was actually rather surprised it came out as soon after ME2 as it did.

Yep me too I had a bad feeling about that (EA)

Absolutely! all that reddit stuff that i just read (kirahhe speech, tactical stuff at the end) just broke me thinking what couldve been. they had the idea but i think they just ran out of time. this is about the time when i think what couldve been if there was no multiplayer or kinect support, if there wasn't anything to take away resources from the core single player, if it wouldve improved just a little bit, even just face import or a better journal.

everyone gives Blizzard so much flak for taking forever to get their games out, but I've never bought one of their games and felt cheated, let down, or disappointed.  they deliver on what they say theyre going to do and if it takes another year then people have to wait but the final product is always spectacular.  to prove the point name one failed game by blizzard

My housemate works for Blizzard. She'll be very happy to hear that. :D

I was both excited but surprised when they first announced the Holiday 2011 release date at first. I felt a bit better when they delayed it, but still, compared to ME2 it wasn't that long - and they had much more on their plate.

They should of had gone for a summer release, like June or May. Would of had given them a couple more months to polish up the ending more.

I could wait another 2 years if it meant a proper conclusion. If it means quality, I'm quite patient.

If November meant we got a good ending with no day 1 DLC and the story was awesomer then it already was yeah I could wait longer.

I don't think it would have mattered. The fact is we don't know enough about what went on inside the company to know why we got what we did. Maybe this is exactly the way they intended it. Maybe they thought that this ending was the most brilliant thing ever conceived in the history of mankind. Or maybe it's like you said, that they ran out of time and had to rush something out the door. If it was rushed, then sure, I'd rather have a finished game that lives up to the quality of the other two and provides a satisfying conclusion to the story. However long it takes to get that, I'll wait for it. It would be disappointing sure, but not nearly as disappointing as getting something that feels half-****ed (emphasis on the $$, since I'm sure that's what drove a lot of this). But so far, everyone has said that yes, this was the way they planned for it to end, so waiting 6 months or 6 years, it probably wouldn't have changed anything.

In retrospect, so much of the game feels unfinished.

Earth was rubbish. No trial.

So many of the missions were just scanning - point in case - the mission to get Elcor War Assets, I thought it would be a proper mission on the Elcor homeworld. It wasn't, all we got was some scanning. It was so much wasted potential.

Hardly any conversations with squadmates - what we had was good, but there wasn't much volume.

No use of ME2 squadmates - we should have had some as temporary squadmates

No hub worlds.

Earth Part 2 was also rubbish. I thought it'd be a suicide mission type thing but on a galactic scale. It wasn't just some battles on a horribly designed and textured "London"

And then the ending.

Would you preferred to have waited another 6 months to get more features, or have got it in March, and got what we did?

Yes.  I would have waited for a finished product.

I tend to be quite happy to accept the "When it's ready" policy some of the better game developers use.

I would've definitely waited until the summer, almost preferred it since the summer is so devoid of gaming and that's when I have the most time to play.

But I could've definitely waited until Holiday 2012. That's a full year after the original release date. Getting one of the best videogames ever made would've been worth it.

If they'd have had the genitalia to admit they were behind and tell us they were sorry and were working hard to make it as quickly as possible, without skimping on the content like they have, then I would have happily agreed. To release something "incomplete" because of time issues, leaks or other scenarios, instead of delaying it further in hopes of getting a complete, successful game, is completely immoral and is "cheating" their fanbase.
