Which Reaper did you prefer as the baddy? Harbinger's, (Keith's) voice work was amazing, (ASUMING CONTROL!), but I still really like the sound of Sovereign's voice, it has that odd machine sound to it.

I personally liked Harbinger better.

I am truly saddened that he isn't spoken to or otherwise expanded upon ONCE in ME3.

I like Harbinger more. My opinion of Sovereign greatly died down when I found out he was basically a custodian, lurking until the real reapers should show up.

I think Harbinger is my favorite of the two as far as actual villainy goes- I love it when the bad guys play dirty and cheat.

But I have to hand it to Sovereign, for a dirty coward/glorified gatekeeper, he really knew how to make an entrance and had one heck of a poker face.

Sovereign! his conversation in ME1 actually made me anxious of what was to come, Harbinger just trolls you the whole length of ME2, "This hurts you Shepard, I will break you!", yeah yeah shut up already...

Well given how Harbinger had a much bigger role, I would say Harbinger wins. But Sovereign was also frightening in those manic, nonsensical way where the justifications aren't really clear yet it advances.

I mean the Collectors (controlled by Harbinger) did kill Shepard and destroyed the first Normandy.

Harbinger, by far. I never tire of his hammy villainous trash talk.

I'm a Harbinger fangirl. Poor Sovreign just never seemed very bright to me.

Harbinger. His annoying speeches gives me the motivation I needed to gun the collectors down. His annoying trash talks makes me want to fight the Reapers on a personal level.

I prefer Sovy. He was the first reaper we encounter, and I like his speeches better than Harby's.

And about Harby, killing his avatars so many times, hearing him while leaving the collector base and when the asteroid was about to destroy the alpha relay, just to be ignored?

Shepard was like an obsession to Harby, but he doesn't even try to speak to Shep during ME3? That's rude.

Harbinger...he was Sovereign's boss and he was more intimidating. Too bad he says nothing in ME3

Sovereign has one of the best lines in the trilogy though - "You live because we allow it. You will die because we demand it." That's such an awesome villain line, showing just how far out of our level the Reapers are.

Sovy was badass. Hands down he was scary and he put humanities existence into perspective.
Harby was creepy and I actually dreaded dealing with him constantly.
I want them both damn it...

LOL, Harbinger never says "I will break you!"  It would be pretty bad ass if he did though.

We need a patch where Harbinger comes to earth and he says to Shepard "I must break you!" (Drago style) and then starts firing his laser.  It would make it so epic.

Sovereign, most definitely. His encounter in Mass Effect was riveting, intriguing and portrayed the Reapers as Gods. Frankly, I can cite so much from that conversation that's bone-chilling. Good job, Sovy. <3

Doesn't he says something like "If I must break you Shepard, I will!" I am pretty sure he does though it has been a while.

Harby was only scary on Horizon to me, once I realized his ideas of  "tactics" was to "Assume Control --> Walk in front of me --> talk crap --> get shot --> repeat" he wasn't scary any more, I think he suffered from being overused in 2 and his dialogue in arrival was lacklustre, just more smack talk <_<, I much prefered the dialogue with the Rannoch reaper in ME3

Sovereign, because the conversation with him on Virmire still sends chills down my spine years later. It was the arrogance, surety and voice that did the trick for me. That metallic voice grating out impending doom in a calm monotone for everyone just makes things sound so much more badass than Harbinger.

I would say that Sovereign awed my Shep just a little, whereas Harbinger just flat out annoyed him.

Harbinger's presentation utterly failed. And since we never interact with him in ME3 all we have to go on is ME2. Sovereign on the other hand was everything the Reapers should be. Sovereign wins.

In other news though Harbinger can breathe easy- he's not the one who single-handedly ruined the Reapers anymore.

Same. When approaching the beam in the final battle I was all excited when Hackett said Harbinger's on his way to earth. And then... nothing happened.

Sovereign's monotonous voice was more alien, and scarier than Harbinger's. As much as I love his voice actor's voice, he sounded too... "typical", for a villain.

The strangeness of Sovereign's voice is much more chilling. I've played Virmire dozens of times, yet every time I hear him talk, I shiver.

Harbinger is better. He brought classic quotes such as "this hurts you" and "assuming direct control".

Harbinger - he is more badass.
