*spoiler* Here is what happens: In the mission where cerberus attacks the citadel you first rescue bailey and he sends you to get to some council member. You fight your way through C-SEC and go up some stairs to an executive office. Upon opening the door an animation sequence starts that freezes after a couple of seconds, always at the very same frame. The game then crashes to desktop. 

I tried the following:

using earlier save
restart the whole mission
upgrade video driver to ati catalyst 12.3 (running on a radeon HD 5850)
origin is newest version

Here are some system specs:

win 7 professional 64 bit (SP 1)
AMD phenom II X4 965
4 GB RAM
SAPPHIRE radeon 5850
