I just watched this on Indoctrination Theory, and it makes some sense. Any other attempted explanations?

no that video pretty much sums up all the theories around which is its indoctrination.
there are others who think it is not indoctrination just bad writing. (i am currently learning towards that one more sadly)

I wish people would post this kind of crap on the Spoil forum.
Just mentioning something about the ending is already spoiled enough for someone who hasn't finished the game.

If Indoctrination is true,
1) It's an extremely badly written way to present it.
2) It's an extremely bad way to market it.
Personally I'd throw it in with the average conspiracy theory. You can make anything fit if you try hard enough. The whole thing is a fiasco whichever way you cut it.

If the ending itself was sound, we wouldn't need to make big, intricate, far-reaching lore theories to make sense of them.

20 min video explaining a 'theory' = they did.
