Your thread reminded me that I unlocked the QE so I started playing her yesterday and got her up to 15 pretty quick. I love her turret and incinerate spam! Currently armed with a Phalanx VI (my Carnifex/Paladin are still too heavy), she's one deadly Quarian, and better yet, fun to play. Thanks for the thread.

Genrally my take on the Quarian Engineer is to provide constant distraction with the turret, and then nuking the high priority targets with a good gun and incinerate. I also prefer medium weight rapid fire rifles like Raptor, Mattock, Vindicator with disruptor ammo, since they deal better with shields than a Carnifex, apply elemental effects faster and provide constant fire support.

Well, with my 'Fex X, Cent/Mara/GRocket shields are downed by a single headshot and I can just OHKO them after that or set them up for a Cryo Blast. A full clip of carnifex can also eat up to 40% of a Geth Prime Armor with Cryo debuff. You can also rapidly headshot mooks for a fast clean-up or stunlock a GHunter/Gpyro with disruptor ammo headshots etc... I'm not saying that your approach is not valid, I would do the same, 'till I get a 'Fex ! :P

Got the rocket turret last night.

Absolutely hate the turret, it
is worthless. No matter where I put it, it gets destroyed in seconds and
it's rate of fire is awful. If I put it REAL far away so it can't get
shot, then it just wastes it's rockets on enemies behind cover. I like
the flamer better, but I already hated that from before.

I might respec to simply not putting any points into it and just roll with 0-6-6-6-6.

The rocket tower suffers from to many drawbacks : random targeting, inability to circumvent covers, low rate of fire, slow traveling time...  The flamethrower turret can be throw at your feet to escape a Phantom, it can be thrown behind mooks to distract AND melt them and best of all, as people said, Banshees and Brutes can fall in love with it and just stare at it for as long as it remains alive (that is to say, if the Shee/Brute is alone, forever.). Ho yeah, and flame turret + cryo debuff = epic DPS.

Don't bother with Stun and Cryo Ammo, they proc nowhere near enough to justify investing a point. I would not trade my instant-BBQ device for barely one more Phantom trollbeam equivalent of health. The last tier of Quarian Defender is also quite useless.

my problem with the QE is that i have to get a kill with incinerate on a frozen target for a combo.

every time i freeze a target, target gets sniped.

i want to like this class, but its more frustrating than fun at the moment.

I don't invest in cryo for the QE or more than 3 levels of sabotage for the QI because your general bronze public won't play smart enough (not that it's entirely necessary, we're all just having fun).  They shoot the cc-ed target before anything else.  So if you aren't playing with a steady group of friends or at a higher level, I'd just skip those hybrid-type talents.

Is shock + cry ammo + flamethrower for turret viable?

If you're good. Not adviseable though.

LOVE my QE, and can usually take down Banshee's, if I have cover, with a well-placed turret, and spamming cryo-blast. Same with most of the harder targets... LOVE watching that armor bar go down fast in flames! ;)

A frozen, sniped target, is a dead target, and dead enemies make me happy, 'cause I get credits, and xp! :)

Agreed!  So long as you're helping enemies die quicker, don't worry about the combos always working.

its more of a situational thing.

if i cryo a lone target, and it gets sniped, that is ok.

if i cryo a target near other enemies, and it gets sniped, the enemies around it dont take the damage they would have taken if i was allowed to detonate with my incinerate.

or i could play drell adept and get explosions all day without needing to work hard to set it up.

A lot of Infiltrators are "lazy" enough to steal my frozen Troopers instead of killing the Rocket/Nemesis standing just beside though, this is VERY annoying.

Busy leveling other classes for next WE and stockpiling equipment, I'm looking for feedback concerning the Paladin after the recent balance patch. Any engineer tested it ?

Unsuitable for power support engineer builds. Just too much weight. Servicable on a team with 2 engineers with complementary skills though, ie, tech/fire/cryo brust.

Hilarious fun in bronze and silver.

I guessed so, thank you for confirming this. Guess good ol' Fex is not retiring anytime soon.

don't know if you guys have tried this but quarian engineer with maxed cyro blast (radius evolution)  with 3 other players that have both overload "jump" evolutions is one of the best times i've had on me3 multi. Just cyro blast everything you see move and watch as the sparks go everywhere. Tech explosions everywhere, and if they all have the increase armor damage incinerate all bosses drop like flies.

I haven't managed to unlock her in the main game yet, but in the demo, I LOVED my QE, and just dominated with her.

I DO wish that she had Tali's signature Engineer abilities of Sabotage and Energy drain with the Combat drone, rather than Mordin's Cryo Blast and Incinerate with a Sentry Turret, but I love her regardless.

Flamethrowers in chokepoints are a godsend.

Used this build today. Totally kicked ass, love the turret. Shielded enemies are a bit harder to take down, but usually my teammates overload them and then.... Well you know what happens.

Interested in your Shotgun QE. How well does it work on Gold? Will try today on my tech team. Have a GPS X and a Disciple VIII. Will try both.

My build is similar to the carnifex one right now. But I am very interested in using my shotty because of the stun effect from gps and disciple.

Can Cryo Explosions be set off when a frozen enemy dies from Incinerate after burning damage? Or does the frozen enemy need to be immediately killed?

Because the former seems to produce the same effect if they die while burning.

The DoT won't trigger a Cryo Blast, you need to kill with Incinerate direct damage sadly. *bump*

Took another look at your shotgun build and am having a lot of fun with it. Only difference for me has been to switch out the GPS for an Eviscerator and Phalanx (CDR at 145%, still enough to spam powers) because I bloody well hate the GPS. The class itself is lackluster of course, but this build seems competitive enough for most Gold matches, provided my teammates know what they're doing.

Anyway, great tips and thanks!

I tried your defensive support build today and it worked pretty well for me.
