First of all - I don't hate Bioware or anyone that works under their banner. They simply disappointed me - and, from my point of view - they should have seen it coming. Do I feel for those that really worked their love into the game? Yes, I totally do and I wouldn't wish this on anyone. But to just sit by and pat the entire company on back is not what I will do. From where I stand - they messed up and they should stand up to the problem and try to fix it. If I see that courage and determination, they will have my full support again. If not - I will be much more critical and skeptical with future BioWare products. Then again, they could simply decide that the many unhappy fans are the problem and fix it by letting us go - we'll see.

Same here. The only bright spot in the ending debacle is the fact that BioWare will own up to their mistakes. That takes a great deal of courage to do and it shows their character both as people and as a business organization. That's why I believe that they will make this right.

I wish I could say I feel sorry for them in this situation but i just can't do it.

because I have been a huge fan of Bioware since Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic and have played almost all there games since then (except Jade Empire and Sonic Chronicles) and loved them all in there own way (granted DA2 was hard to love but liked it for some of its granted few merits).

but with what happened with ME3 giving all of those promises about the ending not just being an option a, b or c ending we got exactly that and ended a series I have invested must be close to if not over 1000 hours into if you count all the play throughs of ME1 and ME2 I did as well.

I will say I trust Bioware that they will resolve these major issues we highlighted and hope they resolve them well. If they miss the entire point of us having a go at the ending I will give up with Bioware.

which I do not want to do because Bioware have produced my all time favourite games (none of the other RPG's I like they are either have no direction, poor story or poor gameplay which most Bioware games have all these ticketed.

If I lose complete faith in Bioware unsure where I will turn.

Feel sorry for Bioware? They just released a blockbuster game to critically acclaimed reviews. Most people enjoyed said game and have voiced as much. Now they're going to announce what's next in store at a gaming convention. I am sorry, but feel sorry for Bioware? I no more feel sorry for them than I would for a friend who just told me they accepted a promotion at work.

They'll have the rest of their lives to bask in our praise if they fix the ending.

The perfect retort. This should be posted everywhere. Seriously.

We're willing to forgive, they just have to deliver.

Worry for Bioware? No, they still have plenty of fans.
But you should worry about the 'movement'... one or two jerks could make you all look like wackos.

They worked so hard to deliver us what they thought was a great product and they were probably so excited about telling us more about Mass Effect 3 at Pax, but now they're probably so sad and scared that all of their former beloved fans now hate them.
Regardless of how you feel about the ending, Bioware needs our prayers and love to support them during this tough time.  Please don't be mean to them.

If they throw some lackey out there to take all the flack, I'll feel sorry for that fall guy. I don't feel sorry for any of the big wheels who come out there and field the shots. I would respect them for doing so but, then, that is a part of what they're paid to do -- be accountable.

No, it'll be carefully stage-managed to ensure they get to do their advertising and PR.

I also think at least some of the Bioware team will have known there were issues before ME3 was released, whatever they may say in public.

In my opinion regardless of what Bioware does, even if they fix the ending they will always be tainted unless the people responsible for the terrible ending are fired. Since the people calling the shots at the top seem to be the people responsible thats not going to happen, but those people also clearly have learned nothing and dont see anything wrong with the ending so even if they fix it, there is no reason to expect they wont just do it again with the next game.

I will honestly never buy anything from this point on Mac Walters is the lead writer on, or that Casey is the lead on until its been out for a month and im sure it isnt terrible, simply because they have destroyed all faith in their abilities at this point regardless of what they do to fix it. So no I dont feel sorry for them, they broke basic rules of good writing, that anyone with a basic literary education could have told you was a terrible idea, and beyond that they still dont see whats wrong with it and are just giving fans something to appease them while condecendingly saying that people just "dont get the ending" which is not true at all, most people get the ending, its just a crappy ending with poor writing.

So while I doubt pax will be bad for them because of how the panel is controled, it probably should be and they would deserve every bit of it.

As someone else said, I don't hate them. I am very disappointed in them and frustrated with the ending and what they are saying. That said, we need to stop talking about Bioware like some Borg-entity. Do we even know who is going to be at PAX? My take is there are a few people who should hear the frustrating in our voices, but the vast majority of Bioware employees have no say in where the games/franchises go. They do what they're told.

Edited:  Just looked and they still haven't announced the Panelists on PAX East's site.

I, personally, sort of hope the whole thing turns out to be a huge disaster. I don't mean with like, violence or hate. I mean that they're attempts to dodge the communities questions and wants is thrown in their face when everyone attending pours out questions about the ending.

I think the only way BW will accept that their fanbase feels betrayed is when they see the mass sadness in the eyes of people at PAX

I agree with some of the other posters. If they fix the ending to something I find acceptable then no harm no foul. If they stick by their "artistic integrity" then they've lost a loyal fan who would have bought Bioware games till the day I die. The same goes for pretty much everyone I know in RL who's a Bioware customer.

I'll be keeping a close eye on what they say at Pax for sure.

Well since the story of ME 3 isn't really over yet, and since we really don't know what they have planned, I'd say it's too early to say really. There is obviously some reason Bioware has remained so silent during all the ending debacle, it's because they know something we don't know. People need to just be a little more patient and wait to see what they have to say. Somehow I just don't believe they would sabotage their biggest selling game series on purpose. There is obviously something going on with all this that we simply don't know yet.

No, I'm sure the crazies will do something that will entertain me. If that makes bioware uncomfortable that's a sacrifice I'm willing for them to make.

Here's a thought. Try not lying to your fanbase if you don't want them to "hate" you. If they try to brush this all under the rug, then I frankly couldn't give a damn if they wanted to talk about how much they love Mass Effect 3. I did too up until ten minutes damned the franchise.

In short, either address our issues or deal with it, BioWare.

I think that is a bit extreme. You learn from things and move on. If you go around firing people then you just replace them with people who haven't learned the lesson.

They will embarrass themselves once again, you just watch. No fixes or changes will be announced whatsoever and Bio will also disprove indoctrination theory.

On the "bright" side maybe Retake will double first backslash.

they'll be expecting trouble so no doubt they'll change the format; possibly attendees will need to put their questions on a card for "evaluation" and then they'll be told if they are allowed to ask the question. Then at some point whoever is chairing the Q&A will say something along the lines of:

"I believe we have a question from John who comes from Florida,, john?"

If they do this people will have to be tricky and not give away what question they really want to ask; otherwise they'll be veto'd before the Q&A even begins..

They'll do whatever they can to avoid questions based on their promises and lies in recent interviews.

Well, I would feel sorry for them, but there's no argument that could disprove that they brought this on themselves.
They literally went back on almost every single promise regarding the endings of the game. How on earth could they not expect prior that this would cause a fan outrage?

I actually feel no sympathy.

I suppose what comes will come.
