Its not.

And if it was planned, well, they probably won't release it.  I think even professional reviewers would take a swing at them for not having the ACTUAL ending for the game IN THE GAME.

That said, they had better add more choices for us when we see Casper.

I really hope you're wrong... no offence.Image IPB

No offense taken XD

I just think that they'd be opening themselves up for EVEN MORE criticism if they really did release the game on a cliffy, and then had you PAY for the ending.

Again, I'd like a new ending, but I don't think Bioware wants to be in more hot water.  The safest thing for them to do would be to add more options at the end.  That would be an olive branch attempting to please most people.

Once again some people posting in this post, in this community really do put not only this community, not only the gaming community in general, but humanity as a whole in disgrace.

People stating there will be blood and they deserve all they get... *shakes head in disbelief* have any of you thought about what you are saying, do you not see how disgusting such comments are?

Do humanity a favour, go seek medical/psychological help those that are spouting such crap. The scary thing is, I can just imagine some of you attempting to do these things you claim should happen. Thankfully I have faith that there would possibly be someone at the conference that would stop such whiny little brats from doing such things and then said person not only would be escorted out of the conference but handed over to the authorities so they can be sentenced to what ever degree is required of such acts.

Good post OP, shame you seem to have attracted the lower level scum of the community to this topic. I totally agree with what you said.

You do realize that this is their job?  They are paid, by us, to do this.  Have you ever held a job or had any business experience?  If so, you know that when you fail to deliver on promises or are found to be underperforming, you are subject to harsh criticism, investigation, and even job termination. They released this game as it is, horribly flawed, and thereby opened themselves up to this criticism.

If I were to use the same virulent, powder-keg reasoning that you did in your post, I would say that it's people like you, who accept whatever is given, that allow fascists to seize power.  You cannot question authority and are so intimidated by those who do that you resort to name calling, hyperbole, and scare tactics.

I'll be honest, I feel sorry for Casey. If it's true that he shut himself away and wrote the ending on his own, without the feedback of the rest of the team, because he thought it was THAT GOOD, and to find out very few people actualy agree? That would kill me.

As it should. A leader doesn't put the success of his people on the line for personal glory. He's the very definition of a glory hound project director if that turns out to be true.

Of course you could, you know, just have a prepared question and agree to say that question, then when it is your turn to ask a question you simply switch it for your real question about the ending.

Also, someone said that market research shows that companies only get roughly two weeks to sort a mess out before people go elsewhere and they lose customers/loyal fans forever. Trying to find out if there are any research sites online that actually deals with that sort of thing though.

Regardless of how you feel about the ending, Bioware needs our prayers and love to support them during this tough time.  Please don't be mean to them.

I honestly wonder about that. I don't hate them, nor do I think most fans hate them, nor do I think they believe we hate them. If anything, my feeling is they don't care what we think with regards to the ending, since it's their "vision" or whatever. But in either case, no, they're not afraid, since they will most likely answer any remark or question about the endings with the same vague non-answers they've been giving us so far.

I anticipate Casey and Mac are going to have a tummy ache that day.
I just hope they don't chuck Ms. Merizen and Mr. Weekes into the firing line.

The approach taken so far has been, well, put mildly: A bit inane.
I honestly think the damage has been done and that in no way will they recover fully at this stage. Sure some of you may adhere to continuing support (potentially even myself included), but this is a very bitter pill to swallow.

I think if they hadn't attempted to play the "artistic integrity" card, their non-academic and genuine integrity would have remained in-tact. At least partially.

So when PAX comes round, I hope honesty prevails.

I hope Pax goes very badly for Bioware. I hope the fans asking about the ending make them cry.

The level of writing of the ending is atrocious. The rest of the game was great, but the ending ruined the whole 3 games for me. How anyone can defend that ending is mind boggling for me.

Bioware should have been the first to apologize. "Yeah, we know the ending sucks. We were under a time crunch. Give us some time to fix it and make it better." But to say that it was painful to hear such negative feedback from the fans? No. They had to have realized they screwed up. They just had to. I just can't believe they released this game thinking they did a good job.

Cool, I see your point, fingers crossed we don't have to pay for the true ending. I know this is wishful thinking and I think it's unlikely but hopefully the ending is on the disk, just unlocked with a patch.

That's just it, I don't feel like they worked hard and poured their heart & soul into the game at all.
1) Lackluster start - poor exposition & writing & dialogue
2) Pathetic quest tracking system
3) Weird bugs & hand textures
4) Linear story line
5) Underwhelming squadmate interactions despite claim to the contrary
6) Photoshopped Tali face
7) Why why IGN's Chobot in the game?
8) Poor exploitation and demonstration of war assets (e.g. Rachnii); underwhelming Priority:Earth mission
9) Ending (need I say more?
10) Mandatory multiplayer; galactic readiness drops by 4% per day.
11) Pathetic flood of fetch quests - seriously?

Overall, felt like Bioware sold me a barebones edition - more to come in DLCs that I must buy.

Bioware gets no sympathy from me at all.

Yes, I do feel sorry for Bioware despite not approving of their ending. The massive number of leaks from their company along with the immense backlash on a host of topics has had to have completely tanked morale. It's not a healthy atmosphere to work in.

I do hope they manage to dig themselves out of all this with some truly inspiring work.

The thing is..

They won't field the tough questions.  They will just dodge around it with some PR spin.

We've all seen it before.

Quite honestly I will eat my shoe if Casey stands up and says:

"We messed up.  We tried to put in an ending that would have left the game open to interpretation but we failed to deliver on a lot of grounds.  We made promises we couldn't keep and we let players down."

If they SAY that I'll buy 4 copies of ME3 just to give them more money.

I don't understand why everything is on Easter Sunday. Its dumb from a business standpoint.

PAX East is April 6-8

The IPL Grand Finals are the 6-8

My friend is going to a concert on the 8th.

I know there aren't a lot of hardcore Christians in USA anymore, but it still seems stupid to have an event on Easter. Kinda kills audience numbers if they have to go home for Easter after 2 days.

"It's late for a little while but it'll suck forever." - Gabe Newell.

I don't care if the game was delayed until next year, as long as they did it right. I feel that they deserve any and all criticism they get at PAX. If they have to squirm in discomfort as they face hard hitting questions from loyal fans then they only have themselves to blame. I mean honestly, who could possibly look at that ending and be proud to put their name to it?

I feel pretty bad for the fans going to PAX expecting anything to be changed. They're going to have their hearts broken a 2nd time.

I also feel really embarrassed for BW, and Mac Walters especially, it must hurt to create something that is almost universally disliked.
