Yes... I'm "WHINGE-ING" on a forum.

You don't have to be rude about it.

Nope, they brought this on themselves by ignoring our complaints and pretending we are a vocal minority. I hope the fans make the conference a living hell for them because in my opinion they honestly deserve it.

I hope it remains civil and constructive. The individuals worked their nads off for this game, they deserve so much praise for the good aspects of it as such.

I have a mental image of something out the Hunger Games when it comes to picking which employes go to pax.

I do hope the fans are vocal, but not rude.

I also feel really embarrassed for BW, and Mac Walters especially, it must hurt to create something that is almost universally disliked.

You can't blame anyone but yourself in this case though when you break fundamental rules of storywriting to try and be edgy and then lie about it and hype it up to be something that its clearly not. The fact is that if they couldn't clearly see that this ending was going to ****** off people then they have no business writing storylines for AAA title games. That's all there is to it, fundamental basic rules of writing were broken, things you simply DO NOT DO were done, the result is exactly what anyone with a basic knowledge of literature and storytelling would have said from the second it was proposed to them would tell you is what would happen and if you are suprised by that then you dont have the qualifications to be the lead writer for anything let alone an AAA title game thats supposed to sell millions of copies.

I totally agree. The level of writing of the ending is indescribably bad. I've seen better writing from insane middle school fan fic.

I wonder if anyone at Pax will throw shoes at the panel?

I have a feeling that mac was put in charge of all the bits adapting the old storyline into the new direction for the plot - which just tells me he either did all his work in isolation (dumb idea, whoever came up with that), has no sense of subtlety, or he just can't do it without drew's help.

I think I know who wrote that bit with the kid in the beginning - and all the nightmares since. ugh. it all makes so much sense now...

They worked so hard to deliver us what they thought was a great product and they were probably so excited about telling us more about Mass Effect 3 at Pax, but now they're probably so sad and scared that all of their former beloved fans now hate them.
Regardless of how you feel about the ending, Bioware needs our prayers and love to support them during this tough time.  Please don't be mean to them.

That's just it, I don't feel like they worked hard and poured their heart & soul into the game at all.
1) Lackluster start - poor exposition & writing & dialogue
2) Pathetic quest tracking system
3) Weird bugs & hand textures
4) Linear story line
5) Underwhelming squadmate interactions despite claim to the contrary
6) Photoshopped Tali face
7) Why why IGN's Chobot in the game?
8) Poor exploitation and demonstration of war assets (e.g. Rachnii); underwhelming Priority:Earth mission
9) Ending (need I say more?
10) Mandatory multiplayer; galactic readiness drops by 4% per day.
11) Pathetic flood of fetch quests - seriously?

Overall, felt like Bioware sold me a barebones edition - more to come in DLCs that I must buy.

Bioware gets no sympathy from me at all.

These are some of the issues I'd like to see them address ALONG WITH the ending.  The squadmate interactions (there should've been a LOT more), Tali's face (while I didn't dislike the final product, they surely could've done better), and war assets (once we got them, they were forgotten until the final battle and even then, we didn't see their specific benefit in the final battle sequences) are some of my most prevalent issues with ME3.  I also didn't like the handling of the LI's, especially the ones with the ME2 crewmembers (Thane, Miranda, Jack, Jacob).

I agree with the OP. I can't believe that Bioware upset its fanbase on purpose. Things did not work out the way they planned and now they have to deal with it. Some civility on our part would go a long way toward making them want to reevaluate how things turned out.

I also do not believe that Bioware, with its history of developer participation in the forums and the way the company has actively sought constructive criticism from its fans, would sink to pre-screening questions. I suspect there may be an understandable effort to guide questions in a constructive fashion when they are asked. But have a little faith guys. Bioware has not turned into the evil emperor. I sincerely believe they thought the fans would love the ending or they would not have released the game.

Given the PAX guys are siding with bioware on this one, I expect they will keep the crowd from doing anything to make bioware feel unwelcome..

I don't think a bunch of comic artists can do much to stop the raging keyboard warriors.  Unles they get some serious police presence, because even unarmed security guards won't do anything to prevent the mass rage from spreading when BioWare opens up the Mass Effect portion of the interview with new multiplayer DLC.

They're making millions of dollars with a product that left many fans disappointed, sad and outraged. So I don't think they deserve any pity.

The least they can do is try to fix this, and for free.

BioWare wanted a polarizing ending to ME3 and they got it. Now they're in a no win situation. If they do nothing or very little to change the ending, the horde of pissed off customers remains pissed. If they change the ending, the endless line of media shills that have been sucking on their ass like it was snake bitten will turn against them as well as another segment of the fan base that, for some incomprehensible reason, actually likes the plot hole ridden mess of an ending we have now.

In short, I'm glad I don't work for BW.

^ this. do they please their core, long-time fans? or do they please the casual players and these "professional" game-reviewers?

They lied to their fanbase, intentionally left out 90% of the most important resolutions so that the audience can feel emotions, they gave us none of the promised closure and instead gave us SPECULATION FOR EVERYONE, and from what I can tell they had help writing the endings from a 12 year old German boy.

Do not feel sorry for them as they've dug themselves this grave and PAX will decide weather or not we bury them.
