Respect to all seniors, especially to those over 60. It gives me hope that there will be still something wonderful to do.
Life goes on till death. You make the most of it no matter what age you are. As I age outside my innerself is still the same 18 year old I was in the fifties but after adding another 50 years to that , at 68, I am a very much wiser and happier person.
The secret to a happy ending is to have a good story and a great adventure. I have great stories and the adventure is still ongoing.
I grew up in an old monastry as the 9th child of a gardener and a cook. I really have explored a dungeon, complete with torture chamber, cells, crypts and a labyrinth of twisted tunnels and secret passageways. All this was my own as a 10 year old which I explored with candles, lanterns and sometimes a flashlight.
I said my own because I discovered it and never told anyone for two years, then at 12 I told a girl who blabed it to everyone and the entrance was sealed off and the whole area fenced off and then we moved away. What happened was that during the German bombing raids of ww ll areas of the monastry were damaged and everyone was too busy for the next few years rebuilding more important areas and the bombed area overgrew with weeds, vines and brush.
Then at ten yrs old on a lovely sunny day I found this hole in an old stone wall. The hole led to a small, very dark room but after a few minutes I could see there were lots of interesting stuff to look at. I went home swiped a candle and some matches and went back and explored until suppertime. The next day, and for the rest of the summer holiday, I spent wandering around finding new things. That place became second home - I even found old lanterns that took oil to burn for light.
Since then I have been keen on castles and history and ever since I bought my 7 year old a dnd game back in the late seventies, have craved role playing games such as this DAo - it's a childhood dream come true.
It's as good as Baldurs Gate can get. I keep expecting to hear Imoen running up behind me to pester me into taking her on the adventure with me...

Same, I thought most of the female fans would be over on deviantART and fanfiction.net. >.>Actually, for most game forums, this would probably be a pretty low ratio of males. I was surprised (and pleased) to see so many females posting here because it suggests the game has a wider appeal than the stereotypical male gaming audience.
21 and female here.
LOL I'm 18/F and I am here, DA and FF.net ^^

Turn it around on them -- after all, they've been playing that "life" game long enough, it's about time they stopped playing. It's in the same vein as, when being told "You're next" at each wedding by older relatives, you should do the same to them at funerals.
