Technically Javik isn't DLC. You can find files of him on the disc, I think? They just made him DLC so you pay more.

Charming, huh?

What you find out in the Final Hours app is that  Javik was supposed to be on the ship and not DLC.  In their original plan, he was supposed to be kidnapped by Cerberus and you had to get him back.  When they ran up against the deadline, it was easier for them to implement the Prothean VI as a simpler subsitute.

Now the suck part is definitely that they charged people (not me, I'm not buying it) extra for something that was in the game until they ran out of time.  It's not like they dreamed this character up after the fact to make the game more interesting.

I'm starting to think it had more to do with the devs trying to make people who had never played ME1 specifically, or 2 feel 'welcome.' I mean they spent a good chunk of the promotional period saying how great ME3 would be for new players.... Well that becomes less true if you have a character you never met before walking around making conversation.

So in essence, it was another bs cop out.

Honestly there's so many little things like this, makes me wish they delayed the game.

Then there's even bigger cop-outs like if you had killed the Rachni queen in ME(1), It's the same damn thing but with different dialogue, why not just have a different mission entirely that doesn't involve rachni.

ME3 is still amazing but I just can't see how all the critics are giving it 9.5s and 10s...
It's a 7.5 in my book.

Yeah, that was a little odd. Kaidan actually moves around. He plays poker with Vega, chats to Adams about Liara after Thessia, and has radio conversations with both Liara and EDI.

Ash did nothing except get drunk, which was hilarious, but her character just wasn't used enough.

Either that or they simply ran out of time, the latter being most likely. It's really sad how incomplete this game feels. =(

I've gone through the game multiple times now and the lack of development time becomes much more noticeable after you're used to the amazing set pieces and the excitement over them is lessened.
Last character was a ME1 Ash romance import and I was also disappointed in how little dialog she had. The "push A and listen to a dialog clip" gets on my nerves, too. Just a way they don't have to adjust lip syncing and facial expressions...looks like garbage if you actually pay attention.

because I was tired of waiting for Tali.

Haha. I know that feel.

In my first playthrough it felt like forever waiting for Tali.

Normandy isn't the same without her on board.

same I ran though the game skipping all side quest just to get her, then do them...... BIG PROBLEM I got to her mission to early and I lacked the Paragon to get them to work to gether so I had to KILL Legion.... I was like WTF, then had to restart my game. Tali got jacked in this game I thought ME2 was bad but by time you get Tali in ME3 there is literally like 2 main quest and the game is done, wish there is a mod to cheat and get her earlier...

She was my favorite character, and my LI, and she got shafted.

I mean, Squadmates in general don't say anything of importance that often. It seems that characters in general were shafted just for...whatever reason.

Whenever Ash (or any squaddie) talked, it mattered, but they didn't say enough. I even remember them promising that reunions with ME1 LI's in ME3 would be a big deal, but she just got smashed in the face and went mute once she joined the crew.

WTF. = /

I was actually sad that Tali got next to zero dialogue aboard the Normandy. :/ At least Garrus was fleshed out.

Wait what...?
I heard quite a bit her actually, from her talk with the Engineering team and Garrus and Edi, heck the drunk talk at the bar and meeting with Garrus before Earth, plus a few more... o.o;

Yeah, but it was all auto-dialogue crap.

You rarely ever talk to squadmates. Image IPB

Yea, that auto-dialogue....they had interesting things to say to each other and AT you, but never WITH you. Actual conversation was at a bare minimum. That made me sad because that's always been my favorite part of Mass Effect.

Well that applies to everyone then, I only remember a few times when you go into cutscene mood talking to 'em, but I can see what you mean with them being so few...

Still, I enjoyed their interactions with each other since we didn't see that in the 1 and 2... =/

I also wondered about this. I was starting to think she didn't really say anything other than "Hey Shepard," Until after the Thessia mission. Does she talk more if you romance her?

Nope.

I ****ed her and she still says "Commander", or "Hey Shepard."

Yeh, Garrus was great. Often had something to chat about, they did a great job there. :)

he talked about family, his work while shep was on house arrest, they really stepped up his humor real high, the bromance was awesome(and the Garrus romancers were going crazy, I saw the video of FemShep's date with Garrus and I think it was really well done).
Also: "I'm Garrus Vakarian and this is now my favorite spot on the Citidel!!"
Awesome line.

Ashley only gets the drunk scene, Kaiden gets like 2-3 scenes. It's not fair... But that's life for ya.

Yeah I was disappointed at the small amount of interaction and dialogue the VS had after coming back to the Normandy.

Kaidan and Ashley were literally the ones who have been with Shepard the longest, I was really hoping the VS would have a lot to talk about...but no.

I mean, the whole sequence with them getting creamed and you visiting them in the hospital was really nice, I thought, but then they sort of clammed up when they got better.

No, honestly, they're not.  They were with Shepard first, but Garrus and Tali have both spent more time with Shepard.

Honestly, I was really disappointed that there wasn't more dialogue though.  Shepard and the Virmire survivor never do really get the chance to patch things up.  I suppose part of that could just be that they spent so much time on the conversations in the hospital, but... meh.

yup, stayed faithful, and what do I get? about 5 minutes worth of Dialouge and that's it.
I'm glad I had a character that also romanced Miranda, least she talked to you a lot of times when she could(like 3 times on the citidel and sent messages as well, also in sanctuary, well you save her, and in the final battle).
Don't get me wrong, I love Ash, its just not too much dialouge(and somehow Liara talked to you a lot, even if you didn't romanced her, not surprising, since she's Bioware's favorite)

Yea, I'd say Ashley was the most underused squadmate in the game. Sad too, because she was my favorite.

I Romanced her , and beside the huge boobs (which were small 2 games ago ) I was disappointed beyond belief , it felt like the romance didn't begin until the scene before Cerberus base

she doesn't even come on board till you've done half the game basically.

there is 0 conversations you can have with her on the normandy, apart from the one really meaningless drunk scene.

I'm not trying to be critical for no reason but they totally dropped the ball with ashley, she acts like a dlc character at best, can't even invite her to your cabin
