He's kinda a cheerupper in the game. With Reapers killing everyone around the galaxy, this character makes perfect sense.

Besides, I took him and Garrus on the final mission. Without their mines and grenades, the Banshees and Brutes would have killed me.

2- He endangers your friends with stupid acts (like hitting that Cerberus shuttle and make it drop on your group).

And if he didn't do that, Cerberus would get away with that Prothean data and we would lose this war before we even get to start and fight it.
HOW DARE YOU VEGA!

He can hit Cerberus shuttle from different angle maybe? (I know it is mostly writer's idea of action still looks bad to me). Yes he looks like saved the day but it could cost lives of two other soldiers with me. I barely tolarate that kind of behavior in real life so can't be okay with it in a game. Safety comes first & think before you act were my first advices to new recruits.

I'm sorry but there was no time for looking for another way to stop that shuttle.
He only had moments to react and do something.

I can't argue with that with insufficent data, like shuttle speed, maneveurability and his point of view (i.e. how much of the scene he was seeing). So let's say his actions were okay.

I used James a lot in my squad, I kind of liked the guy somewhat, But he did feel like a useless addition to me.

I didn't think I'd like him but he's actually pretty charming when you get to know him, gave me some much-needed laughs. Also, I loved his voice (thank you Freddie Prinze Jr!)

I never use him, and in my 3rd play thru I still don't use him he's just standing around in the normandy being a waste of space.

because many of the fans were the nerds and geeks that people like Vega would give wedgies too and flush their heads in the toilet. The same reason Jack feels compelled to called Miranda Cheerleader and Shepard girl/boy scout. Insecurities and lashing out at negative teenage memories about highschool.

I don't have a problem with Vega, I like the character, but I do feel like new characters like Vega are nothing but wasted time that could have been put more into existing characters the fan base already loves. His purpose serves well in introduceing new fans to the series, I think doing that was a great idea but Bioware already had one too many characters to take care of and in the end it became a disaster for some very beloved ones. (really, my posts are covered in Thane, I wonder why....)

To quote myself: He is a useless addition and is only there to take up a spot in my squad. People call Kaidan and Jacob boring, but this guy takes the cake. I'd rather have him in ME2, so I could let him die, or even choose not to recruit him. And I'm even stuck with him in the beginning of the game. What gives, I don't care for his character and I don't want him forced on me. And for crying out loud, we have had enough generic space marines in videogames already.

Meh. Used him on the first play though, wasn't impressed. The attitude is annoying. Your last assignment was jail guard, mine was saving the galaxy. Show some respect.
Also, Lola for femshep? F that. Enjoy scrubbing the hangar bay deck.

He kinda grew on me on my second playthrough, though not as much but that time when He and Javik talked on the crew quarters was just awesome.

He reminds me of my little brother when he was a teenager, only with sexual harassment and random spanish words thrown in for no reason.

So I don't hate him, but I wish there was more dialogue to tell him to quit it with the flirting. I can't even do the tattoo scene with him because of the forced FemShep flirting, ugh.

I hated the new team members, javik for the most, he is a real ****hat. Rude alien. Also missed Miranda. In ME2 I always teammated with Garrus and Miranda.

I really hated him at the start, but he really grew on me as the game progressed and there's no pressure to romance him, so he's really fun to have around. And I'm not a big Freddie Prinze Jr. fan, so kudos to him for making me really like James!

I'm surprised he wasn't a LI in the game...particularly when you consider how heavy they played the beefcake angle.

Of course, when I saw that he and Ashley spent a night drinking together, I was wondering if Ashley was going to go from "I cannot rest from travel: I will drink Life to the lees: all times I have enjoyed Greatly, have suffered greatly, both with those That loved me, and alone"  to "There once was this Marine from Nantucket..."

:P

I don't care much for James. I can do without the attitude and Jersey Shore-ness. I would have preferred bringing back Wrex, Grunt or Miranda as a squad mate over a space marine.

I don't hate the character but I didn't understand why he was there to start off with. The same way I felt about Kai Leng. Although I been told he is from the comics... but if you haven't read the comics like I did... he makes no sense.

My two cents on Kai Leng... all he has done is ruin Zenith for me on my Jedi Consular in SWTOR. =(
