If this is the reason, I think Bioware misinterpreted our dislike of Harbinger. We made fun of his taunts, but like al-Jalanni, they only made us want to shove his comments where a dark sun don't shine.Vulcan101 wrote...
I have a theory ( and only a theory)
Harby was cut BECAUSE fans did not like him in me2. Something to do with not liking his taughts.
Harby actually offers ( cryptically) a better explanation of the reapers than the starchiid.
I really hoped for one last **** talk and then see the Normandy blast his ass back beyond the Far Rim

Also the fact they set him up in 1 1/2 games to be the antagonist for Shepard like it or not means he should've been shep's antagonist in ME3 regardless of what the fans didn't like about him or want for his character. Its kind of like in final fantasy 7 having Sephiroth being your antagonist the entire game but then you get down in the cave at the end and he just decides to leave not fight you and give you exactly what you wanted. You don't set characters up as antagonist just to go, " Oops everybody hated him, lets just not even involve him in the final instalment"

Besides, having the Reaper's leader directly acknowledge Shepard would make him seem too important, when in the actual ME3, it makes it seem like the Reapers don't really give a damn about Shepard and are sick of Harbinger's constant ranting about him as well...

Preparing for the final assault he tells you:
"We need to move quickly, sword reports Harbinger and several sovereign class dreadnoughts broke off from the battle and are heading towards the conduit"
When Harbinger comes into view, I'm almost certain that Anderson actually shouts to you over the din of battle "Harbinger!"
Finally Harbinger has an extremely specific unique profile that is instantly recognisable and it even has those glowing eyes that look like... ASSUMING CONTROL

Boss fight?
I just wanted another awesome conversation with him, but he does not have ONE LINE in the entire game!!! >
Exactly! I was watching one of the Indoctrination vids on YT which explained it in text, but Harby had dialogue there which reinforced it. Way more dialogue than he had here.
However, you could say that for the ME2 cast, they were essentially sidelined. We even saw less of TIM whom they built up so much in ME2.
The balance wasn't good here; however, you could say that amongst the series:
Too much Geth in ME
Too much Mercs in ME2
Too much Cerberus in ME3 (they overshadowed TIM and they built him up as the Kingpin of Cerberus)
And all three got owned in five minutes tops

I've been wondering something... most people identify Harbinger by the glowing eyes and also by the different 'legs'. Most Reapers have five, while Harbinger has four. Did he use to have five? Is it possible one of the appendages was shot off in a battle similarly to what we see happening to another Reaper in a cutscene?

That would be awesome. It would have him being there at Earth mean something a little more.1upD wrote...
I would love to see the voice of Harbinger return in this new 'Leviathan' DLC, if the rumors about that are correct. It wouldn't be too far fetched.

If the rumors about that DLC are correct, they could even have it alter that scene at the end. Right as Harbinger fires the beam, Leviathan crashes out of the sky and begins an epic Reaper fight with Harbinger, but it's too late. Wishful thinking, I guess....TAK The Voyager wrote...

I betcha Harbinger probably wouldn't even grunt after being hit, either.1upD wrote...
