So... Why Are You Still Here?

I have so much time invested in Mass Effect, and I want my voice to be counted among the thousands who were revolted by the insulting finish.
I have faith that BioWare will listen, but until I know for sure I want to keep talking about it.

Because bioware is the company that made me believe great story telling can still exist in the video game medium.
Because I literally bought an Xbox, and a 360 just to play bioware games.
Because I have never traded any of my bioware games in.
Because I want to believe they're still the same company.
Same for me - on all counts.

I would be more worried if the forums really were dead with nobody posting. Then BW is screwed

I mean no disrespect towards anyone here of course. I'll admit that my post has a certain... Tone, to it. But that's simple annoyance by the lack of diverse topics going on in these forums lately.
So please just explain, what is your reason for staying on BSN? Keep it friendly guys.
Because continued annoyance is the only language bigcorp understands. Only after a certain amount of "oh so this won't go away by itself" paired with some dropping sales do they tend to remedy situations.....
Quite simple really, innit?

I'm amused by the fiasco. Bioware couldn't have crashed and burned any harder if they'd tried.
I'm looking forward to April with a lot of anticipation. Should be fun whichever direction it goes.
Yeah also this. I'm an econ major and specifically interested in industrial organization so this is kind of like a free special research course/live case study.

..and change. Wait, I've heard that somewhere before...
Seriously, though, I'm still here because I can't give up on something that I put three hundred hours of my life into so readily. Plus, I don't want what was to be one of the greatest trilogies of all time to be tarnished and only remembered for it's horribly bad ending.
It's really not all that big of a deal if BioWare does change the ending, by the way.
1) Sir Arthur Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes only to go back and rewrite the ending of the story to keep him alive based on overwhelming fan requests, and everybody remembers Sherlock Holmes, right?
2) Charles Dickens changed the ending to "Great Expectations," and Charles Dickens was the most popular British author in the 19th century.
3) J.R.R. Tolkien changed "The Hobbit" to reflect the evolving story in "The Lord of the Rings."
Anyways, those are just a few examples from three of the most popular authors of all time who had no problem changing their work. I hardly put BioWare in league with these three, so I can't understand why changing their work would be such a big deal.

I enjoy debate and trying to figure out both sides of an issue. I simply do NOT understand the few who DO like the endings.
There are more than a few very intelligent people on these boards. I enjoy reading and learning from their posts.
Also....Vromrig does an amazing Mordin impression. And Sawtooth does a great Hanar. I like reading their posts. There are others too. I'm starting to get to know the regulars around here.

So many of you have said something along the lines of, "I'm not done with Bioware" or "I still love the series" and my only response is this:
This post isn't refering to you.
And who has outright said that they're done with Bioware and was serious about it?
I think everyone who has said they're down with Bioware, said that they'll be done if Bioware doesn't improve the ending.

Lack of diverse topics are the direct result of the lack of diverse endings, and the lack of concrete response from Bioware. I don't expect emotions will cool down until Bioware stops PR spinning. That's not the fans' fault. And from what I have seen, most people are done with Bioware if things aren't fixed....and Bioware is employing lotsa delaying tactics. So everything remains up in the air for folks.
Lots of speculation.
yeah people keep complaining about lack of diverse topics, and I've even been annoyed by the number of ending related topics, but when I think about it what else is there really to post about in a forum about the story/'campaign? It's not like in ME2 where there were a ton of different decisions to be made at every turn, even before the suicide mission.

However, I don't beat around the bush. I tend to be blunt. So, I'll just come out and say it.
To the point:
It's really none of nobody's business why I'm here, except the Admins and Mods, unless I choose to share my reasons. Nor is it the place of any forum member to question why anybody joins/remains part of this community.
No offense intended, OP. I hope I answered your question in a satisfactory manner.

Hope indeed. And as for you asscertion OP, that many of us have simply decided to "never" buy BW again, you should be aware that for many of us the stipulation for that is that BW does NOT fix the endings. If they do right by their fans and consumers, I'll go back to hapilly buying BW games.

On the topic of the lack of diversity of topics, there isn't much to talk about to begin with. The game was much more streamlined than the previous installments, less choice = less discussion. Also because it is the end of a trilogy the most important part is the end and the mess that was made makes it even more of a hot topic.
