Before I reached the ending I thought the fans demanding it be changed were wrong. I thought if Bioware listened to them they would be sacraficing their artistic integrity, and an oppurtunity to move video games in the direction of true art.

I was wrong.

I disagree with those saying the ending ruined the entire game. Up until the last 5 minutes or so, I think Mass Effect 3 was one of the most superb games I have ever played. But the ending is terrible.

I thought I could bring about a new era with peace between the races, including the geth and quarians, and a galaxy free of the reapers. When I heard how unhappy people were I thought that that was possible but that it was a very bittersweet moment with lots of favourite charecters dieing.

But instead, all the choices I made were negated.

If the ending was good but pissed a lot of people off, Bioware would be wrong to change it.

OP, I was in your shoes before I finished the game, too. I thought, "oh great, a bunch of whiny fans complaining because the end didn't happen exactly the way they wanted it to." Well needless to say, I discovered I was wrong and changed my tune too...

If we held ignorance of the ending against someone, there would be very few members. Welcome, friend

Welcome to the, um, 'vocal minority' - I was once just like you. Thought I would love the ending regardless.

Never been more wrong.

Congrats sir. Why don't you go blog about it or something? I mean, it's not like we've seen these complaints before or anything.

I just want to clarify. If you liked the ending, that is fine. But Bioware should have given fans a chance, even if it was difficult, to achieve the kind of ending they had a right to expect, based on the tone of the series from the beginning of Mass Effect to the moment in Mass Effect 3 before you enter the Citadel beam, the ending fans had a right to expect based on all epic stories, all mass market fiction. Bioware should give us that chance. They must.

If you're anything like me, you'll hate it more the more you think about it.

I actually liked the ending of ME3 for a whole 24 hours, until my brain started ticking over...now I can barely contain my disappointment and grief.

I didn't believe my friend either when he said he didn't like the ending. When I played it I ended up here and held the line. Now with the talk coming out of bioware I feel I might as well quit and sell the game. I just can't justify selling an $80 game for $36 in trade in.

I wish I had held onto my ignorance. Then I could smile blissfully and enjoy the game <_<.

It's cool, dude. Just keep it in mind for the future when you look at a situation. I mean, even in the Retake movement, we don't know what the future holds. Maybe they're planning awesome stuff and if we knew about it everybody would be less angry. For now all we can do is act on what we do know and keep on providing criticism and ideas while we hold that line.

Right, I would be fine with an ending where you had to make every *single* choice correctly. Like down to whether you convince Helena Blake to stand down. Everything. But we deserve a chance.

I'm sure that you'll feel at home being called "passionate" and "hardcore" for not thinking that the ending was great. 75 perfect scores against your $60.
