Anybody else left with a bit of a sour taste in your mouth with TIMs demise?  Especially when they re-used the Saren scene to do it.  I mean, at some point TIM had to believe in what he was doing .. believe in saving humanity ... truly at his core.  Even Jacob says something akin to this at one point.  Something like, 'I believed in what he was doing once .. but I didn't know how evil he'd become.'  Or something like that.

It would have been a so much more powerful moment if he could break hold of the indoctrination (just like you were imploring him) and for a brief moment where his true self re-asserts does something that helps screw over the Reaper plan.   Instead, he rants and then shoots himself.

But then, I guess that's kind of a small issue compared to the rest.  Still feels like one more opportunity missed.

Well, if you follow that the ending actually occurs rather then some indoc enhanced delusion, he does in someways attribute by planting the idea of control.
