A better question would be is there a reason to get Diana Allers at all?

She makes good target practice.

Seriously, why couldn't we have Emily Wong?

Because Twitter canon.

Oh, right...

Diana flirts with my Shepards even after they're in a relationship. Garrus, get your rifle ready.

The annoying thing about Allers is there's a good idea there (using the media/propaganda to influence the war, even if only in small ways). It's a nice touch that giving reassuring or positive answers can increase morale or encourage recruitment or what not.

It's just that Allers herself is poorly implemented (to put it diplomatically) and the effect of what you're doing is so minimal that it never gets much beyond "a good idea".

The satisfaction in knowing that as a result, she gets killed.

Aside from lousy voice acting (exception: one line that you only hear in the nightmares, and that only if you kick her off the ship and thus kill her off), my big beefs with her are the resources put into creating a pointless character because they wanted to cultivate some kind of relationship with IGN. She got a full model while Tali got a poorly-shopped photograph. Emily Wong was killed off and Khalisah al-Jilani was shunted into a minor role in order to make room for Allers. No, seriously! If you look at the oldest version of the leaked script, there was a planet-side quest with both Emily and Khalisah, and Allers didn't exist. While I haven't been able to touch the game since March, for Allers-unrelated reasons, any hypothetical other playthroughs would have refused to take her aboard.

Well I for one would have preffered Emily Wong but I hear she was killed by Twitter.
Hey Bioware, how about putting these important bits of information in the game and not say, Twitter.

Its kind of like having to go on Twitter or the Mass Effect Wiki to discover that the core of each Reaper is based on the species it was created from... Oh wait!... We had to find this out on Twitter as well as its NEVER! explained in game.

You know, I'm starting to get the feeling ME4 will requrie a twitter account.

I dont like IGN, I don't like her character all that much and EMS is meaningless to me.

Because having her in that room is an insult to Zaeed.

Is there a reason to even have her on the ship to begin with? Allers is the worst character in the series, and her role should have went to Emily Wong. Fans already knew and like Wong, so why get rid of her and replace her with Chobot. It's choices like this that pissed many ME fans off.

if you romance her does she get a memory sequence at the end when you make you pick?

I don't think she should, sleeping with her isn't treated as a 'proper' romance by the game, I don't think.

It took them long enough to add homosexual romance options, I think bestiality would be a push.

It certainly ruined any credability (there's none) IGN may have had with regards to their review of Mass Effect 3.

She brazenly hits on Shepard... seems like a good enough reason to me.

Emily Wong's Twitter death is the best bit of writing I have ever seen by the Mass Effect team.  I am not kidding.

Ive been pondering about this, is there any reason to tell Diana Allers to get off the ship?  Shes not that critical of a reporter unlike that Khalisah al-Jilani.  Shes worth 5 war asset pts alone plus her interviews if handled at all competently add quite a bit.

Can she get in the way of a romance or something, and then you'd need to remove her?

Well. Obviously, since she was modeled after Jessica Chobot from IGN she is the reason the game got such a glowing review from them and why another of their editors slammed the Retake movement so hard. So since IGN still reviewed the game that a member of their staff was a part of (gee, no reason to give a higher review than it deserved is there? hmmm) and with that being a massive conflict of interest, that IMO is why she should be removed.

I keep her to remember where all the time and resources to make a better game went to.

And it's not in the game. That would've made for a wonderfully moving moment after leaving Earth, but nope!

Substitute all the Vent Boy scenes for Emily Wong's Death, and how Shepard couldn't save her.

"There was a reporter on Earth...I couldn't save her"
