I love this idea, someone should get a decent artist to sketch a Shepard in a chef's hat, hehe.

A low-grade photoshop would be much, much funnier. Shepard from the Blur trailer, hat from the Swedish Chef on the Muppets.

I have no photoshup-fu, or I would do it myself.

How to implement destruction, control and synthesis?

Also "Eat these cupcakes so they won't be eaten by other people"

I must say I like this lighthearted approach to things. We've been serious and that was very much needed, now it's time for a different approach.

^ Goroxx has got a good point. Notes could go very wrong. Plus there's been two letter campaigns already.

Indeed. Notes are only good if insulting ones are filtered out. That would be more work for the organizers.

Hate the endings? Wish the devs would make it right?...then come and check out this campaign.

We are currently trying to organize the delivery of a mass of cupcakes to Bioware's studio in Edmonton. All the cupcakes will be divided into equal parts Red, Blue and Green colors... but they will all taste exactly the same.

Non violent, well-mannered protest.
I feel like humanity got just a little bit more enlightened. I didn't quite hate the endings, but it's amusing enough for me to get behind.

Yeah, moderating the notes seems like a necessary precaution.

I really, really don't like the idea of allowing contributors to include a short note.

All its going to take is one of the trolls to put in some stupid death threat "you suck we hate you, hope you choke on this cupcake" or something and THAT'S all you're going to see in the biased gaming press.  Yeah, that's the kind of message we want to send to Joe and Jane Schmoe line employees, who have no control over the direction their company takes.

So the thing that was sorta sweet and funny, and letting the Bioware employees know that no, we don't hate them, turns into something ugly.  All the while some douchbag is sitting behind his screen laughing "TROLOLOLOLOL"

Just look at what happened with the Child's Play thing and how it ended.

Don't let that happen.  Please.

As long as its checked before sending, I'd see little issues, although I would largely prefer one or two notes and that's it.

Yeah the notes should be clever and make reference to the poor endings without being insulting or offensive. This needs to be light hearted.

I'm going to agree with this.

The only solution I can see is that you actually censor the notes so only the funny/light-hearted ones go through.

We do not want to be represented by those who cannot control themselves.

Sleep deprived idea, but maybe the note should be something about how they shouldnt be afraid to be honest and talk to their fans like adults at pax?

x2 ... or we fashion the collective letter that is in the same general tone, but states we are still looking forward to a better ending.

Really great points here. Although what happened to the Child's Play thing? I contributed to that.

I'm sure the notes will be supervised to be civil and not offensively snarky and and the list of them could possibly even be discussed here. :?

no, its not. they are going nuts with this lol. giving feedback in the feedback thread and making articles/vids about why they dont like the endings is enough. antagonizing bioware like this is just going to ****** them off.

i mean, id be happy for the cupcake shop making some money but..idk man this just seems out there

The more I think about it the more I think a community note is all that is needed, individual notes will take way too long to filter, especially if we want to get this to them before pax.

Oh unless we set up 16 premade notes that an individual who contributes to the fund can choose from. That way we know what is on the notes in advance, and everyone gets a choice as to what they want to say, and it reflects a little on what we were promised.

How does that sound?

IN ADDITION:

Every single person who contributes, will be able to write a brief note to be attached to the cupcakes. We will also, as a community, write a letter from all of us to Bioware.

Community letter is fine, but PLEASE don't let every single person write a note... One hate-letter is enough to destroy this fantastic and charming way of letting our voices be heard!
Instead you could include the names of the persons who donated.

Also: I approve of the "3 different colors / all taste the same" idea. ^_^

To clarify to everyone concerned about Bioware even eating them...... the plan is to hire PROFESSIONAL BAKERS to BAKE and DELIVER the cupcakes.

According to the HTL Community thread, possibly these guys: http://www.fusscupcakes.com/

At no point will the cupcakes be touched by Retake fans during the creation process, for hygiene reasons and for the peace of mind of the Bioware staff.

ALMOST READY GUYS!

I'm waiting on the confirmation invoice (which will show proof of order, as well as contact info).

As soon as I get that in, I will post it and give you all the link to the ChipIn site. This is just to keep things as transparent as I possibly can.

Note: Also please keep in mind, I will personally email the notes from the contributors to the bakery. So we're not going to be sending them any rants, hate mail or stuff like that. Cheekiness and kindness is the order of the day.

Hold the line!
