I'm actually starting to get pissed now. Not that these kids got free cupcakes, but the fact that Bioware could've EASILY told us what they were planning on day 1 of this campaign. Instead they gave us various replies of "YUMMMMM cupcakes."
Bioware you are a disgrace. You trolled us for no reason. This is a ****ty way to treat your fans..just saying.

Poor kids can always use something sweet to cheer them up.
Guys, I don't think that the idea has been played. In fact, if the kids get something out of it, everyone wins.
Let's be creative again: Let's show how much we care.
And dear Mr. Priestly:
If the people wouldn't appreciate the game(actually the whole franchise) and the work done on it, they wouldn't take this much effort in showing you how much they care about the game the team created.
I think, that is a reason to celebrate.
Because:
Even if you face a flame-storm from people who can't remain civil, even if many people showed their disappointment with the ending:
Your fans and costumers, still put this much effort in showing you how much they care for Mass Effect.
How much trust they have in you.
Is this not worth some celebrating? Having people touched so deep with your work, that they don't abandon it like it's just a game?
I appreciate it, that you took the notes from the boxes. You mentioned, BioWare takes such input serious, so I'm sure they will be read and given proper attention.

However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.
Sooo...what? Was the idea too bait and switch-y? Like the team would think they got one thing, then realize later they got something else?
Yeah, I could see where that would suck.
Kudos for the youth center, though.

What I don't understand though is why they couldn't have said so first - come posted on the thread and just given a "if you send these, we'll keep the notes but can't eat them" warning or something. OTOH I guess they only had half an hour to do that in given how quickly the donations came through.

I'm confused. Is IGN taking the cupcakes to the local youth homeless shelter?
I want this documented.
Because I'm highly considering of filing a lawsuit right about now. I want photos and videos of the cupcakes being HAND DELIVED to a local youth shelter, and not simply thrown away.

So again. Will there be proper proof of these cupcakes being delivered to those promised local youth shelters...an not just biowares word...biowares word is worth nothing now.

Too bad the shatchild didn't magically appear while you were trying to load up the cupcakes for transport and say, sorry you must eat them.

Hey, at least some good came out of this right?
Once again the community has managed to put a smile on someone's face somewhere in the world. Bioware may have cleverly dodged the question once again (damn, you guys are slippery fish), but we were noticed, and some good came out of it.
However Bioware, you are going to have to face the music at some point. You are only putting off the inevitable. Sure, I'll wait - but I want to be hearing something sound. No more tricks, no more games, no more dodging. Facts is what I want to hear. I don't care if they are not want I want to hear because that isn't the point. I just want evidence that you truely are listening, and attempting to respond to criticism in a meaningful manner. At the moment, I cannot be sure that your words are not hollow.

I agree. Let's just be grateful that some needy kids got a nice treat, count it as a win for everyone and wait for PAX.IsaacShep wrote...
Seriously this. Enough of "getting the message though". It got through, just relax and wait for April news now.dfstone wrote...
They have repeatedly said that they are planning on stuff for April. I think you guys should relax a little.
... However if Thomas didn't get one, I will personally hand deliver him his own cupcake tray, to say thanks for saying our idea was awesome.

However, I'm alright with it. They went to a charity to give kids a little bit of joy that normally do not have much joy. They donated them on the fan's behalf. It makes sense, being sent as a type of protest could be seen as a bribe.
I am positive that this is not meant as an insult in any way, shape, or form. The fan's made a nice gesture, and BioWare not being able to accept due to possible conflicts of interest did the most paragon thing they could. Donate them. It's not like they threw them away or had a cupcake fight. (though a cupcake fight would be awesome.)

To BioWare : You did right giving them to childrens BTW, I mean it's not like you can't afford a bunch of cupcakes. You got the joke, you laughted, then you decided some hungry childrens deserved them more. I am 9000% okay with this.

I also did kinda hope Bioware emploies would have atleast 1 cupcake or so, because even there was a message in it. It was send out of love for you guys/girls at bioware annd I truely hoped you enjoyed them.
And to follow up what another poster said earlier, form the 3 choices you were given, you created a 4th choice. It would be awesome if ME3 ending gets such a 4th chioce which is in complete contrast of the the 3 prior choices
