Wow, so what, if the cupcakes said "WeBioware" you would have kept them?
What a bunch of nonsense, shows Bioware refuses to accept criticism in any way, shape or form.
Good for the Youth Center tho.

As far as I'm concerned, we raised $1,005 to send cupcakes to a youth center. BioWare redirected our troll to a good cause. And really, they WERE trollcakes, so I understand what Chris said about not being able to accept them. If I were a BW employee, I wouldn't really have been able to enjoy them. I really don't think they intended to shaft us by not accepting them. They donated them to KIDS. They're not evil.
We collaborated with BioWare to make a lot of kids happy today, and they got our messages. Everybody wins.
No, just like I don't praise all they do now, I've already made many critical thread abouts the endings. But when they say "we will release more news on this subject this and then" then I can perfectly wait to see if it happens. If not, then I will complain. Waited when they said "will have more info on romances atfer E3", complained when they didn't have any info. Waited when they said "will have more info on Origin next week", complained about the Origin being implemented in ME3 but not that the info was indeed finally released. I just think it's getting overboard. We don't need new "retake" action every week, new donations, new something. They've already said they're working o endings DLC (whatever that containts) and will reveal more in April, so eyah, I say let's wait and actually see what they have to say in April.Ricvenart wrote...
@Isaac: You of all people attitude truly surpises me. Did you just stop when then announce S/s romances 6 months prior to release and praise every statement they made (or didn't) during that time?
If anyone buys one of the future games, let the rest of us know.Xellith wrote...

Now this is the only issue I have with this.
Honestly the whole "no snarky feedback plz." is weak. Especially hilarious coming from you Chris who loves to snark on the forums.

I'd like to thank everyone in this thread who's posting their snarky or negative reactions to giving a bunch of shelter kids some cupcakes as a treat.
You're handing IGN and other haters a bucketload of ammunition on a silver platter. Can't wait to read some of these awful comments in a press article.
Way to help spread the Retake message. Thank you. /sarcasm
^This.
.-I think youre missing the point. I dont think there is a single soul on this messageboard that has anything against giving to a "bunch of shelter kids".
The point is that they deflected the people who donated. They refused a gift, allbeit a gift given with toungue in cheek, but they refused it. They gave themselves permission use a fourth option, changeing the "rules of the game" for themselves. Thats what has people miffed. Not the kids. I hope those kids in the sheltere get sugarrushes all around.

*************** UPDATE *************
Ok guys, we all did good. Bioware got our message, and the kids got some food. If anyone is curious, I was interviewed by two separate news sources. One from Edmonton, one from Toronto. I will post links when the interviews are up. WIth respect to the charity portion of this campaign, this was my official statement:
"I'm glad that these Cupcakes were received, and also very happy that
they got donated to kids who need them. It doesn't matter who eats them.
RetakeME3 sent its delicious message, and did some good at the same
time."
We held the line, and Bioware knows how we feel. Again, we did good. Bioware has our letters, and hungry kids get cupcakes.
We held the line. Now we wait till April, and see where we go from there.
Thanks again,
Sam (aka LoganKey, aka Beretzik)

Youth Emergency Shelter Of Edmonton
The shelter is a home where kids and teenagers who have no where else to go can seek caring assistance in working through various difficult circumstances. Although the shelter can only house 28
kids, it provides a safe haven for the 28 in-need children who reside there.

They did accept feedback, they kept the notes after all.
But sending cupcakes to try and say "You dun f'ed up" is a backhanded compliment.

Alright some people are having trouble following me so i'll break it down.Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.
The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team.
This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.
BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to
the fans who donated the cupcakes.
Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.
This is the full message.
This is the good part of the message. Bold mine.

Can you see the difference? It still works as a complete statement doesn't it.

This jammy bit here is nothing more then a backhanded PR ****slap buried in charity, the kind of charity -we ourselves were insulted for doing- when we were accused of dragging kids into things and using them as a shield. I do NOT like being talked down to, let alone by people I -PAY-.
