Hey Bioware, you know what I find funny?

You're being offered three colours to choose from, and using your own critical thinking you've made your own decision and said "We choose option #4".

Giving Shepard that same choice would go a long way to showing you understand where this went wrong.

In the words of Keanu Reeves: Whoa.

When will it stop? What happens if the new ending doesn't satisfy the unhappy people. My advice, let it go and move on.

What I'm curious about is, do people really think that by eating the cupcakes Bioware was just going to say "Yep, changing the ending". It was a small, humor-filled gesture on our part, with a bit of bite. Bioware got the cupcakes, they read the notes, acknowledged the ending issue again, and then sent them off to charity. Everybody wins.

Go look at Stanley Woo's post from a day or so ago that covers the "yep changing the ending"

As far as this outrage about them not keeping the cupcakes... Childs Play. The defesne of that from so many that are now acting outraged is "well something good came from it"
Now they are trying to argue semantics of how its okay "something good came from this" but how BioWare used them.
Damn that wheel turns fast.

Indeed it does. It's just a bit funny because about a day ago, this thread was the height of positivity, and now suddenly it's exploding every which way.

Well to be fair it seems confined to those couple people that want to paint BioWare in a negative light in any way possible.
And they ruin it for everyone. I in no way think of the whole cupcake or Retake group like this. Just those few who are so tied up in their mindless anger that ruins things like this for everyone.

This would be my first comment ever on these forums. Sorry to jump right in, but what i read into Bioware's statement was "We don't want to eat the cupcakes because they were sent in criticism and not praise of our work. So that's why we're giving them away."
But that's just my opinion though, you don't need to go spreading it around.

I'll say this. I'm not in favor of criticizing Bioware for donating these to charity. Remember how we were bashed by the media for donating to charity because herp derp ulterior motives. It's not a good feeling to be demonized for donating stuff to kids.

I see people in this thread defending Bioware for doing this. I'm sorry, but when did they defend us?

People are so narrow-minded. The cupcakes is just another poor interpretation of "Hey, here's your ****-up in an eatable-state, enjoy." Who in their right mind would want to send that message to their employees, it's like trying to shove down a form of mockery into someone's mouth and digest it.

Perhaps LoganKey could comment. That is certainly not how I interpreted it. It was a little bit cheeky but overall I believe these were sent out with the best of intentions. The majority of the game was very good, to me this was a celebration of the series, but with proviso about the ending. I hope Bioware did not take this as you suggest.

MINI UPDATE

For those of you wondering why CTV didnt show up and why Global news did. CTV sent me a message saying that their resources of late are really being eaten up by the election so they were not able to send a crew. Guess global just happened to have more resources free today :P

Let's not lie here, the whole cupcake drive was a back handed insult to Bioware as well, cracking jokes about their 'bad' ending but trying to make it look like a reward by giving them sweets.

I'm glad the message was received. It Wasatch better decision to donate them instead of throwing them out. It is a littler disheartening that it takes.for Bioware donating on our behalf (as that is what they did) to make it OK for Retake to be involved in a charitable donation. As for.the people foaming at the mouth you need to take a step back, and take a deep breath.

I can't believe people are upset at BioWare for giving those ridiculous cupcakes to a youth shelter. Are you people even listening to yourselves? I am totally disgusted.

Hah. This right here is pure flamebait. Someone will always come around to twist people's words around in an attempt to make them look bad.

My only worry is that the press will do the same. Though, that would probably be IGN, and I don't give a **** about IGN anyway, so...
But otherwise, this was a triple win. Fans got their message through, some children were made happier, Fuss got free publicity... Well done, everyone.

*************** UPDATE *************

Ok guys, we all did good. Bioware got our message, and the kids got some food. If anyone is curious, I was interviewed by two separate news sources. One from Edmonton, one from Toronto. I will post links when the interviews are up. WIth respect to the charity portion of this campaign, this was my official statement:

"I'm glad that these Cupcakes were received, and also very happy that
they got donated to kids who need them. It doesn't matter who eats them.
RetakeME3 sent its delicious message, and did some good at the same
time."

We held the line, and Bioware knows how we feel. Again, we did good. Bioware has our letters, and hungry kids get cupcakes.

We held the line. Now we wait till April, and see where we go from there.

Thanks again,

Sam (aka LoganKey, aka Beretzik)

You should have said this as well

Hey Bioware, you know what I find funny?

three colours to choose from, and using your own critical thinking
you've made your own decision and said "We choose option #4".Giving
Shepard that same choice would go a long way to showing you understand
where this went wrong -
Eain (The one who came up with this)

That would have said a good message to Bioware....Oh and thank you to Eain for you masterful statment you kick ballsack.

It's distasteful and an disgusting act towards Bioware if you ask me. It's a subtle act of bullying, and I don't really approve of it one bit. I don't care if it's meant for a "good" thing or anything, the neccasity of three-variants is enough to make the staff feel responsible for so many peoples shattered-and broken hopes of a "good" ending.

How would you feel if you did something "wrong", and you people kept throwing it back at you, regardless in what way- it's a constant reminder of the poor decision/action you made, it's no good in whichever intended way it is.

Some people really ought to take philosophy classes.

PR my friend, PR. So far, Bioware hasn't done the best job of it, the current statements are full of back handed compliments and near insults.

Wasn't giving them cupcakes with a bunch of messages basically telling them how bad their work was a bit of a back-handed compliment in itself?

Yes, it was, congradulations. Notice how the cupcakes came after Bioware's offical PR statements. I'm not saying or judging what side is more ethical, or right, but you are watching a war of worlds, traditional PR media vs Internet social media (Journals are traditional media, not social).

I do find it fascinating.

Not once. In fact they seemed to only defend people who gave them positive reviews and people who told them they liked the ending.

I've been as heartfelt as I can with Bioware, as have many others, and it seems nothing we do will convince them we're not being ****s jerks about it. Some are, but the majority are not.

Man, you sure are full of yourself. Who died and declared you to be the next Descartes?

You come into this thread, make some nonsensical comments about sending Cupcakes to Bioware or not having to do with philosophy and if people demand an explanation you declare who is or is not a philosophical person.

Whereas to speak of oneself as a philosophical person sounds conceited in itself, your high and mighty attitude makes it even worse.

I've studied philosphy for years in college and I know my way around, so please explain to me, where cupcakes enter the game?
