You know, that note doesn't actually criticize the ending. All it says is that the ending was emotional. Shame; you had a chance to really tell them where they went wrong and all you did was confirm that they did the right thing by having an "emotional" ending.
After the 99% good the "ending gutted me" ya I think they let BioWare know.

Here's my interivew with Puresophistry!
It is one of the two interviews I gave about the Cupcake Drive.
I hope you all enjoy it. I did my best to represent our community

-Live interviews arent that easy to pull off successfully. You got the message across, sounded very sympathic, and mentioned both the bakery, the fanbase, forbes and bioware in flattering terms.
Well done. Very well done indeed.

The problem is the absurd PR talk of the first message. Just say the truth in a straight way. Everything would be better.
You could try actually reading his post?
The second one is really nice and straight, but the first one wasn't so nice.

Blunt and honest. Why aren't all posts by BW staff like this?
In all honesty it is because we are a business. What we say and do when we interact with the public matters and will be remembered. As such we make sure that our replies for things are worded carefully and correctly. That is why many times you will see a "PR" style message out of me or other staff.
Still.... every once in a while... I go rogue. PR hates me.
It is this personal touch you put into your post that make you my favorite Bioware employee on these forums. Thank you for letting us know that we are not speaking in vain. My faith in humanity may be restored yet.

I might be wrong, but cupcakes were a gift given to you by people who care and appreciate your works. I dont belive the messages were ever the main point, bioware clearly knows about the complains; a couple of written papers wont change nothing

The thing is, Chris, that PEOPLE HATE PR STATEMENTS. Social networks aren't places to do the same PR stuff you do for TV, blogs, internet gaming sites and so on, because people on social networks expect to get "the blunt, plain truth"...or should I say mostly "a human being".Chris Priestly wrote...

As you can see, people here (and in every social network) doesn't speak using PR statements nor give speaches. They speak casually and expect nothing more from the other end. Hell, if I wanted a PR statement, I'd just go into a blog or something, not a place where I can talk to people and interact with them.
Anyway...I'm just saying that the community here doesn't even care about the Chris Priestly (some even hates him). I think most people here care for the Christ Priestly you just showed to us: the human being, the person, not "the PR guy".

People are spinning this incorrectly to say we are not listening to "negative feedback" and how bad we are and etcetera.
Wrong.
We did listen. At no time did we try to stop Fuss for making the cupcakes or delivering them (this would be unfair to Fuss and to the fans who sent the cupcakes and a generally dickish thing to do). When the cupcakes reached us, we did not refuse to take them (again, unfair to the people who sent them). I, along with Fernando, Mark and Alistair went down, met with Shadow Wrought, gave him some swag for being brave enough to show up and keep us honest and took them upstairs. We took all of the included messages out of the bags and boxes so we would not lose them (again, cuz we're listening). We did not throw them away, ignore them till they got stale or not use them as what they are, food. We chose not to eat them and gave them to a needy charity.
The message REACHED us. Whether we ate the cupcakes, threw them in teh garbage or donated them to charity is secondary to us getting the message, right? If we had (somehow) frozen time, put them in a display case for all time as a reminder of the message sent by fans, this would have been the same thing.
Us actually eating the cupcakes or not should not have been the issue. The issue was fans creatively sent us a message expressing their love for Mass Effect as a franchise, but dislike over the endings. This message was delivered to us and we got it loud and clear.
Blunt message or not, this actually misses the point.
Imagine getting a gift, a gift with a message attached to it but still a gift. Regardless of your feelings towards said gift it is given to you as appreciation, or because they care. The fact that once something is given it is yours to do with as you wish is most often not applied to gifts, because gifts are intended for your sole usage, else if it was given to charity the person feels that you didn't appreciate the gift itself, because they too are capable of giving things to charity if that was their desire, but instead it was their intent to give it to you.
As such to take a gift and the message but not actually enjoy the gift itself, is usually considered insulting to people unless they indicated that you were to do as you wished with said gift.
I myself am perfectly capable of donating to charity, my decision not to in this instance and to instead potentially support cupcakes does not mean that I want that given to charity.
