I hope they didn't isolate the rest of the team from everything that happened.

I get the bad feeling that all our notes ended up in a room somewhere and only a few devs saw them... probably just my paranoia talking.

I dont' think 400 Cupcake will be hard to see in a lobby, trust me, if you work in a office building before, if free food arrive, everyone will rush down and see what's going on.  Developer/writers will see them and they will understand the message just by looking at the cake.  I mean, unless they dont' read any forum and whatnot (I doubt that), they will know ppl are not happy about the ending.

Mother of god....thats an excellent idea

This has got to be done.

Dude...I said this before, but your reactions merit me reposting what I said before...please consider what I am saying...

part of Mr. priestly's answer seemed like it was saying "only good
feedback please" but his last post clarifies that. And even if he didn't
do us the courtesy of clarifying that, taking out ad space or doing
things that are purely "offensive" (both in terms of being mean and
offense vs defense) is not the right way to express our displeasure to
the Bioware team.

They are people with feelings and dignity just
like you and me, and we should always remember not to get carried away
no matter how soul crushingly depressing and horrible the ending to ME3
was.

Also, as egregious as the ending to ME3 is right now, for
the moment we should always remember that these are the people that
brought us the 99.85% of the games that (generally speaking) we liked.

So
until they announce at PAX what they are doing to address the ending
issue, we should remain calmly firm yet respectful, and if PAX comes
around, or if they release the "solution" and all we get is more PR
speech or half-a**ed "solutions" then my suggestion would be just to not
buy from them and move on.

At the end of the day your wallet is
your vote, and buying or not buying is the simplest, most efficient and
most dignified way to express your displeasure.

That's exactly
why I havent bought the game yet. Between all the Origin stupidity, day
one dlc already on disc, and the atrocious ending, there's no way I'm
buying ME3 until I see a light at the end of the tunnel...

Well how it ended up is funny.

What will say now the curmudgeons who trolled half the thread saying that we should have given all this money to charity instead?

Quite ironically delicious if you ask me.

So even if only by that little detail, totally awesome move Bioware!

Well, to be fair, if we told BioWare we hated the ending and wanted them to change it, but that we'd still keep buying all of their products regardless, they'd have no reason to listen to us.

Our dollars speak louder than our voices ever will.

Point taken.

I guess I just come at it from a different perspective. If you loved everything up to that point, and really enjoyed the work that was put into the rest of it, I don't quite undestand the desire to financially hurt hte people who made it. I get the dissatisfaction, and the desire to see it rectified. I am not sure if it was necessary to review bomb and threaten to make that point.

For me, there's no malice involved. If a company makes a product I like, I'll support them by purchasing. If after x amount of years, they change the product into something I don't like, I'll stop buying.

Blunt message or not, this actually misses the point.

Imagine getting a gift, a gift with a message attached to it but still a gift. Regardless of your feelings towards said gift it is given to you as appreciation, or because they care. The fact that once something is given it is yours to do with as you wish is most often not applied to gifts, because gifts are intended for your sole usage, else if it was given to charity the person feels that you didn't appreciate the gift itself, because they too are capable of giving things to charity if that was their desire, but instead it was their intent to give it to you.

As such to take a gift and the message but not actually enjoy the gift itself, is usually considered insulting to people unless they indicated that you were to do as you wished with said gift.

I myself am perfectly capable of donating to charity, my decision not to in this instance and to instead potentially support cupcakes does not mean that I want that given to charity.

OMG This guy is amazing! After trolling half of the thread about how we should not *give* them the cakes and instead give the money to charity, he is now trolling BioWare that they shouldn't have sent the cakes to charity!

Aesiesomething, go frakkin hide in a cave and don't come back. You have serious problems.

I haven't checked in since earlier this afternoon. I gotta say it's so cool to see the progression that's happened! I donated a few days ago and am really happy to see the cupcakes given to charity. I think it was the right thing to do and it's so cool to see their engagement with us on this level. GREAT JOB everybody! What a cool way to conclude this campaign.

The names not that uncommon actually, and in any case, calling me a troll via incorrect definition and immaturity doesn't really mean anything to me and really only makes me think less of you, not the other way around.

Also, the only thing that thread seemed to indicate other than some immaturity was to run if certain named people present facts.

Im just glad this ended well for the movement and got the point across as well as possible.
And to those who are unhappy with Bioware not taking the cupcakes, rest assured that them giving away the cupcakes when they were intended as a gift, and intended as one of three options of cupcakes to then only take another choice is taken as the ultimate irony. Its win win so we should all be happy. (plus the devs are people, whatever choice they made they don't want to purposefully upset us so let's be happy they got the messages and are listening to us )  ;)

Edit:  Aesieru or whatever, please stop with trying to goad people into arguments, let's try and keep it positive please?

You seem to forget many things, first that you have no idea what the word "troll" means, but also the meaning behind what I said.

Instead of wasting money on REWARDING PEOPLE for lying and other such things as well as making the coconut cluster with a swirl in the middle of feces that is better known as Mass Effect 3, it is more logical to dedicate the MONEY to charity.

The issue is that since the money was used to buy cupcakes and confectionary snacks, it cannot now be used for charity, it has already been spent, and so if it is then turned over to someone and they REJECT IT so as to give it to whatever they want, be it a charity, a dumpster, or a homeless man, it was not intended for that purpose, and so not only was it wrong to waste the money on cupcakes, it was also wrong for BioWare to decide what to do with a gift meant for one purpose not whatever purposes they desired, as that is insulting.

Basically, the money should of been given to charity, it wasn't.
The cupcakes made with the money should of been received and eaten by their recipient. They weren't.

This isn't an act of hypocrisy or anything, merely pointing out that those who gave to the charity for cupcakes had their money used for something they could of donated actual funds to which would probably help in a more significant, rather than what they thought was being done with it. And that is wrong. It becomes a worse situation when it was a gift that was not received in the way gifts are designed to be received.

---

BioWare should of eaten the cupcakes, refridgerated the ones for those not present, and then delivered money to a charity themselves, so as to have the best of both worlds and show a responsible and respectful behavior.

(And the post that was edited and insulting)

Calling me a troll, Bianco, does not make me one, nor does it make me one if I'm called a troll by 200 or 300 people, or to be more accurate, 15 or so. It only makes me one when I actually am, and I do not fit the definition nor are my statements not actually related.

Is Mr. Priestly saying that if these cupcakes had been sent with notes saying they loved the endings that the kids at the shelter would be **** out of luck in the cupcake department?

We did this to support Bioware, not bribe anyone. Whatever though, we have heart and we care about something. Which is more than can be said for a certain studio.

Dude, I'm not playing dumb, I edited my post because first I reacted to your continued negativity on this thread, earning you the classification of "troll". Instead I thought it would be better to try and steer the discussion towards a positive note so I tried to post my positive and relieved feelings about the cupcake initiative and how finally something regarding ME3 made me feel good, and then left in just a small addendum trying to politely tell you to stop trolling people, but apparently you don't care and just want to continue arguing with people needlessly. Well have fun, although it's really annoying and not useful to anyone.

Don't be surprised then when people continue calling you a troll, when you go looking for fights and change your arguments from white to black just to be on the opposite side trying to start flame wars.
