What practical purpose does this serve, exactly? What's the difference between this and just throwing $1,000 into a drainpipe?

The BioWare employees will remember this for a long time. Memories are worth more than money.

The plan here is to make the employees at Bioware so fat that they will submit and fix everything just for the sake of stopping us from sending more pastries.

Anyway, I chipped in as much as I could this morning and last night. I wanted to donate more, but a $30 was all I could spare.

I got in here too late, saw the thread title and the Bioware mark and thought it was a quasi-troll thread that received an employee lecture. ; ;

Sadly, I don't think a $100 gives much of a cake ;) But maybe they make something small out of it.

Then we donate more! from what I saw I think we could have easily reached 500 dollars more.

I think he prefers donuts.

Apples are healthier.

And I prefer cigars, wine, and strawberry swirl cheesecake.

But no, only if I screw you over do I apparently deserve things.

So you've gone from giving money to sick kids, to throwing money away on cupcakes for no reason?

... way to go, people. Way. To. Go.

It may be hard for you to do two things at once, but the rest of us can manage it pretty fine!

There's no part of what you just said that was logical.

You've taken $1,000 which could've gone to the charity and instead made them into cakes which are probably going to be thrown away for safety reasons.

The cupcake are made from a professional baker, thus, there is no safety reasons to worry about.

And anyway, even if they don't eat them, "we" had to do it, for the lulz.

Bioware is part of a huge company. There's protocols which'll no doubt say that unexpected food which arrives shouldn't be eaten for safety reasons. Even letting someone know they're coming might not be enough to save them from someone in the bureaucratic line, especially with the furor and hatred that's been going on lately.

The fact that my posts have illicted a response of "Here we go" and "THE MORE YOU MOAN THE MORE WE SMILE HAHA" ... tells me that other people have already pointed out this lunacy. If you want to do something to express yourself, fine. Do something which actually benefits something, instead of going to Bioware "LOOK! SEE WHAT YOU'VE MADE US DO, WE'RE BURNING OUR OWN MONEY! BURNING IT!!! GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"

Because that's basically all that this gesture says. Charities could be being helped. Hope you're proud of yourselves.

So if someone orders a pizza he/she cant eat it?
They will be expecting this it will come straight from the bakery... I dont really see what is wrong with supporting a developer while at the same time sending him a message in a funny non traditional way. :-P

It's always so heart warming when some people are so worried about other people "wasting" their money on bringing joy to other people, be it either through a cupcake campaign or by giving money to charities. For some reason using money on oneself is not that bad, but for the good of others...

Are they afraid they themselves might be moved by such campaigns to "waste" their money on something not primarily directed at their own leisure? ;)

Well, DICE is an EA company, they got cake, delivered _by_ the fans. And they ate is and are all alive and well (maybe just a little bigger).

Dude, read the thread before you post please. No one in their right mind is mailing 400 cupcakes to Bioware. The baker will be delivering them himself.

The few Bioware employees that have posted in here sound enthusiastic about the idea. They don't represent the whole company but I say it represents a good sign.

If you don't like it then move on. Redirect your.... energy to something that matters to you.

Let's hope this doesn't happen: "Ah, yes, 'multicolored cupcakes'. Delicious baked pastries from the fans to the Bioware staff in response to the reactions of the Mass Effect 3 Endings. We have dismissed those claims. (Addendum: The cake is a lie)"

On another note: Raising the financial cap for more cupcakes sounds like a good idea. I support it, as long as it gets the right message across.

I hope she does.  Didn't they wake her at 3:00 am or some ungodly time of the morning just to deal with the massive backdraft the forum went through last week?

She deserves many cupcakes.

I doubt that. My friend runs a small beef jerky business and has sent boxes of jerky to Bungie a few times. They actually order from him now for parties. The first few times he sent it because he had a critique. So he sent a box with a message. They posted about him on the weekly update and everything.

HE STOLE YOUR CAR!

Cars can be replaced, dead best friends can't.

If he was my best friend, which you state in your argument, I'm sure he had done nice things to tip the scales in his favour, event though he stole my car.

So **** the car. Have a cupcake.

First off, to others.

NO ONE IS TROLLING THIS THREAD, people are just really baffled why you would be NICE to the PEOPLE who screwed you over if they AREN'T even SORRY in ANY CAPACITY.

As for why we're here, because we are bewildered and trying to get the message across.

Stealing your car indicates a lack of respect for you which probably indicates that you're both no longer best friends... or at least he doesn't view you as one.

BEST FRIENDS can be replaced, your integrity and respect CAN NOT.
