Raz, cut it out. The cupcakes are going to be sent and eaten, and there's nothing you can do about it other than watch it unfold.

Maybe all this doesn't really make sense, but think of this as a nice way to gain attention to the cause, spark some media coverage maybe? It's not all about logical reasonind and well thought arguments, making good impression also counts.

Are you really trying to say that they wont accept it even if it comes straight from the bakery?

Possibly.

Companies I've worked for have had this happen before.

And EA already accepted cake from fans before. Why would this be any different? This time it even comes from the bakery. Last time it was hand delivered by fans at the office.

For the record, I have in the past sent Bioware chocolates that they said they enjoyed very much. I suppose it's possible they weren't allowed to eat them and were just telling a fib to be nice, but I don't think so, since the reply was so enthusiastically grateful. Besides, given the amount of money involved here, I imagine that if they weren't allowed to accept food gifts then they would have said so in order to prevent money being donated in vain.

Almost everyone in this forum pays for entertainment. People choose to purchase cupcakes because they find it to be an entertaining way of sending a message. They paid for entertainment. I know! It can be distressing that people pay for things that THEY find entertaining, which YOU may not find entertaining at all.

If you find entertainment in throwing your money into a ditch, I have no problem with it. It's your money.

That doesn't stop me from pointing out how utterly disgraceful it is to do something like this immediately after the Child's Play campaign finishes. The precedent of donating to charity has been set. You're instead spending money on cupcakes. It's like going to a community which has been organising donations for starving African kids and organising a drive to burn money in a bonfire for publicity for starving African kids. It makes no sense.

People throw money away on stupid things all the time which could be put to far better use. Ain't gonna stop me pointing it out from happening.

Bioware is part of a huge company. There's protocols which'll no doubt say that unexpected food which arrives in the post shouldn't be eaten for safety reasons. Even letting someone know they're coming might not be enough to save them from someone in the bureaucratic line, especially with the furor and hatred that's been going on lately.

Dude, read the thread before you post please. No one in their right mind is mailing 400 cupcakes to Bioware. The baker will be delivering them himself.

The few Bioware employees that have posted in here sound enthusiastic about the idea. They don't represent the whole company but I say it represents a good sign.

If you don't like it then move on. Redirect your.... energy to something that matters to you.

Nobody said they were being mailed ...?

Well it looks like Bioware disagrees with you.

Then fair enough.

First off, to others.

NO ONE IS TROLLING THIS THREAD, people are just really baffled why you would be NICE to the PEOPLE who screwed you over if they AREN'T even SORRY in ANY CAPACITY.

As for why we're here, because we are bewildered and trying to get the message across.

Because being nice goes a long way.

NO IT DOESN'T

PEOPLE WILL SCREW YOU OVER FOR THE SMALLEST OF THINGS. It doesn't matter how nice you will or if you fricken talked them out of suicide, PEOPLE WILL SCREW YOU OVER if it benefits them or they have something better come along. It's not fun, it's not nice, it's not ideal, but it's common, and it's normal and no one gives a **** when they do.

The issue is that if someone screws you over, reinforcing their behavior DOES NOTHING GOOD.

You have pointed it out. People saw it and decided to either pay attention to it or not. Insisting on the same again and again is not going to make people change their minds.

It's just going to look as if you're trying to ruin the fun (not saying that you are).

"Madness is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result", or something.

Aesieru, Razman, HenchxNarf:

The cupcakes have already been bought. What possible relevance do all your posts have other than to make people feel guilty for doing something good? The people who donated money for this did it willingly, to lift some spirits and show that we can express our feelings positively and creatively.
Even if Bioware does throw all the cakes in the trash, and laugh at all of us while burning an effigy of Marauder Shields, it's made a lot of people around here feel better, and that's worth something.

So you've gone from giving money to sick kids, to throwing money away on cupcakes for no reason?

... way to go, people. Way. To. Go.

It may be hard for you to do two things at once, but the rest of us can manage it pretty fine!

There's no part of what you just said that was logical.

You've taken $1,000 which could've gone to the charity and instead made them into cakes which are probably going to be thrown away for safety reasons.

The cupcake are made from a professional baker, thus, there is no safety reasons to worry about.

And anyway, even if they don't eat them, "we" had to do it, for the lulz.

Bioware is part of a huge company. There's protocols which'll no doubt say that unexpected food which arrives shouldn't be eaten for safety reasons. Even letting someone know they're coming might not be enough to save them from someone in the bureaucratic line, especially with the furor and hatred that's been going on lately.

The fact that my posts have illicted a response of "Here we go" and "THE MORE YOU MOAN THE MORE WE SMILE HAHA" ... tells me that other people have already pointed out this lunacy. If you want to do something to express yourself, fine. Do something which actually benefits something, instead of going to Bioware "LOOK! SEE WHAT YOU'VE MADE US DO, WE'RE BURNING OUR OWN MONEY! BURNING IT!!! GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"

Because that's basically all that this gesture says. Charities could be being helped. Hope you're proud of yourselves.

^ This.

Okay then. With this logic, the next time you people, who complain over the money for cupcakes not going to a charity instead, do ANYTHING with your money that doesn't include giving it to charity you should be ashamed of yourselves. The next concert you go to, the next present you give your parents, the next beer you give your friends at the pub. All that money could be spent for some charity and not by feeding your kid sugar or bringing some happiness to people you care for.

No one can live like that, except buddhist monks living in a temple. My guess is that you're nothing of the sort. So go gently caress yourselves.

go back and read my last reply to you if you don't understand, its not that hard, but I can recommend a few books if you need.

In the meantime, Bioware, enjoy your cupcakes from Fuss, as long as EA doesn't make you bin them. If they do, leave and make a new company, Cupcakeware Ltd. then fix the endings with user made dlc.

One of the things I've always enjoyed about BioWare games is their healthy tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.

This smacks of that and has indeed injected a much needed dose of silly into the whole bleek post-horrible-ending existence in which we are currently stuck.

Props again to the organizer!
