Almost everyone in this forum pays for entertainment. People choose to purchase cupcakes because they find it to be an entertaining way of sending a message. They paid for entertainment. I know! It can be distressing that people pay for things that THEY find entertaining, which YOU may not find entertaining at all.

If you find entertainment in throwing your money into a ditch, I have no problem with it. It's your money.

That doesn't stop me from pointing out how utterly disgraceful it is to do something like this immediately after the Child's Play campaign finishes. The precedent of donating to charity has been set. You're instead spending money on cupcakes. It's like going to a community which has been organising donations for starving African kids and organising a drive to burn money in a bonfire for publicity for starving African kids. It makes no sense.

People throw money away on stupid things all the time which could be put to far better use. Ain't gonna stop me pointing it out from happening.

Let me reiterate my earlier point: you spent money on Dragon Age II.

/argument.

Which I enjoyed, thoroughly.

If my best friend was in a carcrash? Hell yes I would send him cake.

HE STOLE YOUR CAR!

Cars can be replaced, dead best friends can't.

If he was my best friend, which you state in your argument, I'm sure he had done nice things to tip the scales in his favour, event though he stole my car. **** the car.

Stealing your car indicates a lack of respect for you which probably indicates that you're both no longer best friends... or at least he doesn't view you as one.

BEST FRIENDS can be replaced, your integrity and respect CAN NOT.

Yeah, you would probably think more of the car even if it was your son was the one who stupidly stole your car and is now lying in bed hurting, wouldn't you? Good priorities, right there.

First off, to others.

NO ONE IS TROLLING THIS THREAD, people are just really baffled why you would be NICE to the PEOPLE who screwed you over if they AREN'T even SORRY in ANY CAPACITY.

As for why we're here, because we are bewildered and trying to get the message across.

Because being nice goes a long way.

One of the things I've always enjoyed about BioWare games is their healthy tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.

This smacks of that and has indeed injected a much needed dose of silly into the whole bleek post-horrible-ending existence in which we are currently stuck.

Props again to the organizer!

Strikes me as the kind of thing Sky from Jade Empire would do.

Ahhh now I see why this whole thing bothers you: it kinda falsifies your whole cynical worldview...

Want a cupcake?

You cannot falsify the reality that people have lived and seen with their own breath and eyes.

You would not be sending people things or doing nice things for people that screwed you over or made you cry or hurt you really bad.

So you've gone from giving money to sick kids, to throwing money away on cupcakes for no reason?

... way to go, people. Way. To. Go.

It may be hard for you to do two things at once, but the rest of us can manage it pretty fine!

There's no part of what you just said that was logical.

You've taken $1,000 which could've gone to the charity and instead made them into cakes which are probably going to be thrown away for safety reasons.

The cupcake are made from a professional baker, thus, there is no safety reasons to worry about.

And anyway, even if they don't eat them, "we" had to do it, for the lulz.

Bioware is part of a huge company. There's protocols which'll no doubt say that unexpected food which arrives shouldn't be eaten for safety reasons. Even letting someone know they're coming might not be enough to save them from someone in the bureaucratic line, especially with the furor and hatred that's been going on lately.

The fact that my posts have illicted a response of "Here we go" and "THE MORE YOU MOAN THE MORE WE SMILE HAHA" ... tells me that other people have already pointed out this lunacy. If you want to do something to express yourself, fine. Do something which actually benefits something, instead of going to Bioware "LOOK! SEE WHAT YOU'VE MADE US DO, WE'RE BURNING OUR OWN MONEY! BURNING IT!!! GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"

Because that's basically all that this gesture says. Charities could be being helped. Hope you're proud of yourselves.

^ This.

Okay then. The next time you people, who complain over the money for cupcakes not going to a charity instead, do ANYTHING with your money that doesn't include giving it to charity you should be ahsamed of yourselves. The next concert you go to, the next present you give your parents, the next beer you give your friends at the pub. All that money could be spent for some charity and not by feeding your kid sugar or bringing some happiness to people you care for.

No one can live like that, except buddhist monks living in a temple. My guess is that you're nothing of the sort. So go gently caress yourselves.

No. False premise. We all spend money in our everyday lives, and we all spend money on charitable causes.

The real statement is if you don't give money to charity, but give money to this ... then you should be ashamed of yourself.

There is just one problem. Even if Bioware screwed up, they are the only ones who can fix it. Burning bridges helps no one.

Dude chill, that's why we have something called forgiveness.

The issue is, if someone screws you over you can either forgive them or not. Yes, BioWare hasn't said "I'm sorry" but we have enough good will to think they will, or they will speak with their actions for that matter, so we simply take the protest to a funny, light-hearted level. It's a nice change, people is still angry and upset, to have a bit of fresh air of optimism and good will doesn't hurt.

And honestly, if it bothers you, that's alright with us, but as you can see we do not agree with you, so don't keep on it or you'll just get yourself burned over nothing.

On the subject of the suggested Marauder Shields cake (if it goes ahead at all).

My sister is a cake decorator - (wrong country so she can't help out) but you don't have to go with a flat surface picture cake - some of the stuff people can do is just amazing. For my kids birthday parties I've had 3D Little Mermaid cake sculptures and Rupunzel in her tower with a stream and forest - it really is an art form all of it's own.

It just takes money and time.

Anyway just food for thought!
