If your best friend screwed you over and crashed your car, would you send him a cake?

If my best friend was in a carcrash? Hell yes I would send him cake.

HE STOLE YOUR CAR!

Cars can be replaced, dead best friends can't.

If he was my best friend, which you state in your argument, I'm sure he had done nice things to tip the scales in his favour, event though he stole my car. **** the car.

Stealing your car indicates a lack of respect for you which probably indicates that you're both no longer best friends... or at least he doesn't view you as one.

BEST FRIENDS can be replaced, your integrity and respect CAN NOT.

Yeah, you would probably think more of the car even if it was your son was the one who stupidly stole your car and is now lying in bed hurting, wouldn't you? Good priorities, right there.

Familial relations are VERY different because you don't just get rid of them you've lived with them, birthed them, raised them.

My son I would be angry at and I'd punish him,b ut yeah I'd spend every day with him until he got better, but if it was a friend who disrespected me? Friendship isn't family, some friendships can BE family but they will screw you over as well, your kids though, they're part of your life whether you like it or not.

And we were talking about friends not sons.

Maybe all this doesn't really make sense, but think of this as a nice way to gain attention to the cause, spark some media coverage maybe? It's not all about logical reasonind and well thought arguments, making good impression also counts.

Agreed. I fail to see any negative side to this at all.

Well, Diabetes, but we're ignoring that! Image IPB

Cavities and indigestion too!

Even if this cupcake thing fails to have any impact at all, I can get to the end of the end of ME3 and think "Mmmm, cupcakes".

No. False premise. We all spend money in our everyday lives, and we all spend money on charitable causes.

The real statement is if you don't give money to charity, but give money to this ... then you should be ashamed of yourself.

FFS why should I be ashamed of myself?! Since when is sending someone a gift considered something to be ashamed of?!

I hope the cupcake delivery will be documented, all from collecting the funds to the bakery making the delivery. I am sure it will be appreciated.

Good cause and all, but I'm worried. With all these donation things happening, scams are bound to appear.

Imagine how awesome it would be if Shepard reached the giant elevator and we find out the Catalyst is actually a giant cupcake.

You cannot falsify the reality that people have lived and seen with their own breath and eyes.

You would not be sending people things or doing nice things for people that screwed you over or made you cry or hurt you really bad.

So perhaps that's not what happened. Ever thought about that possibility? Or is GRIMDARKWORLDVIEW all that you have to offer?

Perhaps all you need is a hug.

It's like going to a community which has been organising donations for starving African kids and organising a drive to burn money in a bonfire for publicity for starving African kids. It makes no sense.

OFFER TENDERED:
I will pay $20 for an artwork, of medium or better quality, which depicts BioWare eating delicious RED, GREEN, and BLUE cupcakes while CHILDREN are starving in AFRICA, and a "hater" pointing this o
ut to everyone. If there are multiple submissions, I will pick the best one based on my sole judgment. I will repost the submissions as needed. Deadline for submissions: 12 hours from this post. My selection to be announced in this thread, if still open. Bounty will be held in escrow if required.

NO IT DOESN'T

PEOPLE WILL SCREW YOU OVER FOR THE SMALLEST OF THINGS. It doesn't matter how nice you will or if you fricken talked them out of suicide, PEOPLE WILL SCREW YOU OVER if it benefits them or they have something better come along. It's not fun, it's not nice, it's not ideal, but it's common, and it's normal and no one gives a **** when they do.

The issue is that if someone screws you over, reinforcing their behavior DOES NOTHING GOOD.

Ahhh now I see why this whole thing bothers you: it kinda falsifies your whole cynical worldview...

Want a cupcake?

I think needs a lot of them. Man come on is this really how you view the world around you? That you there is no trust anywhere?

This is the reality of the world, the thought that no good deed goes unrewarded is false.

The thought that a corporation cares about anything other than its profit margin is also false. Now if acting or caring INCREASES the margin then sure they'll act like they do.

Wouldn't it be cool if Bioware made an alternate ending. With the crew celebrating victory with CUPCAKES?
