Before people get a little too freaky with their enthusiasm, I hope people realize that none of this is, in any way, shape or form, required to get us to listen to you. Nor can we be bribed to make things go your way. And finally, no matter what happens, we still love our community.

That said, if this comes to pass (after all, nothing is guaranteed), i will dedicate my cupcake to those who said I should get more than one cupcake.

Cheers!

While some people might see it that way, I think most of the people who went along with this action understand what you said and already knew that too when they donated.

Still I think it is a great idea and donated happily. You guys at Bioware are awesome and I like the idea I could help to do something in return.:P

You should get twenty. NOW DEDICATE IT TO ME.

And we know man, we're just doing it for the gigglez.

In case anyone missed it.

Since there are way too many trolls in here, I would like to say I think this is awesome and I was smiling for twenty minutes after I heard about this. I would totally chip in for Maruader Shields and the Three Huskateers cake.

Though I am a member of Retake, I must say, if I put myself in BioWare's shoes I would find this "gift" somewhat insulting. It's like a backhanded compliment. It's clearly a two-faced gesture that gives with one hand while wagging its finger with the other. Things like this should be done out of appreciation, not to bake criticism into their very food. JMO.

When I saw the word 'goal reached' I thought Bioware agreed to modify the endings.

Am disappoint

We should of wrote them a note promising there would be sprinkles on the cupcakes.

And then there would be no sprinkles. Bioware's sprinkle related choices wouldn't affect this at all.

Ah, perhaps the temptation to try just one more cupcake, only to find out that it in fact tastes exactly the same as the last one may be some motivation?

Like, if this is how it tastes for us, imagine how it tastes for all those fans?! Vanilla-ey

Will no one think of the fans?

I'm glad if the Bioware staff will won't take it as a provocation, and i do hope the cupcake will be good.

The fans, doesn't matter if they were satisfyed or not by the ending, don't want to fight or be at war with the dev, they provided us hundreds of hours of top notch entertainement since years.

If I could I'd send a cupcake to Garrus, but as he can't eat human food and is fictional I've had to make do with sending it to you guys instead.

There's two different reasons people seem to be opposed to it. Some feel it's "rewarding" them for failure (which I consider silly ... a nice gesture from fans would encourage Bioware to listen. And in my opinion they already listen anyway, more than most developers).

Some others, like me, feel it's extremely disheartening to see the positive energy from the Retake movement diverted from charitable causes towards (what we can all hopefully respectful agree is) a frivilous activity such as sending cupcakes. It's people's choice what they do with they money, obviously. But the money is being generated from the energy surrounding the fanbase right now, and I liked seeing it go towards good causes. This feels like a diversion away from that.

But that's just my opinion. Carry on with the cupcake drive, hope it goes well.

We already said we respected your opinion.
And to us, this is a good cause, even if it's just for funs.
So just, yeah, respect our own opinion as well.

Haha, this is like someone spitting in your face and then you buy them cupcakes as a thank you.

More like someone making a good game with a bad ending, and giving them some cupcakes to sweeten the already (arguably deserved) received vitriol and critique. God knows I've been angry with them for botching the ending, but they are not the evil workers of satan that made sure the ending were there just to ****** you off.

They made a [insert your idea of how big] mistake, we have ripped them a new one over it.
And now we're stuffing them with cupcakes.

BSN be some crazy MFs.

I understand. How about if we get you, say, 800 cupcakes instead. Hmmm? Hmmm?

Well the bioware devs in this topic seem pretty excited for cupcakes. I recall one saying to raise the cap.

My thoughts exactly. Heck I myself have made quite harsh (though polite) critique posts. I personally needed something positive and light-hearted. Not everything has to be all seriousness.

What if I accidently slipped a twenty in to one of the cupcakes.

Would we get a new ending then? ...Accidently?

Aesieru, please go make a thread in the general forum about distrust and betrayal and all of that. That is not what this thread is for.

I am fully within my rights to argue and debate the logic of this without castigating you for how you spend your money.

Do this WHEN BioWare apologizes, NOT BEFORE.

Then do it in a thread that doesn't cater to our deliveries of cupcakes to BioWare, please. This is something we want to do, you don't want to be a part of it. That's fine. Now go gently caress yourself, and do it somewhere where we won't have to read about it. Please.

There's two different reasons people seem to be opposed to it. Some feel it's "rewarding" them for failure (which I consider silly ... a nice gesture from fans would encourage Bioware to listen. And in my opinion they already listen anyway, more than most developers).

Look at it this way then: That cupcake shop just got a $1,000 order out of this and the economy sucks right now.  We're supporting small buisnesses!

My hubby the software engineer said this was a nice opening salvo, but it would take AT LEAST pizza and a free t-shirt as a follow up to rise to the level of a bribe...

Enjoy the cupcakes, no strings attached, but perhaps a moment of pause?
