Think about it, I don't think they want to indulge in tasty foods based on something they probably feel bad about... They got the message which is what counts and it's going to charity.

Probably 1 or 2 people who already knew about the cupcakes got the message they have already heard. We kind of wanted the whole studio to go "Oh there are people out there who are unhappy with the endings, we should really fix those."

Wonder if the staff at the youth centre will appreciate all their kids getting hyper on a sugar rush!

Come on, you can't blame Bioware for offloading them. If they sat there and pigged out, they'd get slated. At least they're going to a good cause.

So, when they deliver the DLC we're asking for, can we send them another 402 cupcakes that they'll actually *eat*?

Yep. I have all of the messages (not all were cut out by Fuss, they are the white print-out at back). And those are being kept by the team. :)

Hey Bioware, you know what I find funny?

You're being offered three colours to choose from, and using your own critical thinking you've made your own decision and said "We choose option #4".

Giving Shepard that same choice would go a long way to showing you understand where this went wrong.

Poor Thomas Abram. :(

If they really change/expand the ending, we could make another donation for more cup cakes to celebrate. :)

This was personal.
This was between bioware and us.
And in the end we got non-thanks from Chris and all of this is turned in one giga PR move
[feel free to flame me now, lol]

Hi Everyone

Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities,  as such it was decided that rather than passing  out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day.  Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

You're not implying that you'll be taking feedback less into consideration because it was done out of negativity, are you?

I hate to join the team of resident PR experts, but this seems like an easy way to deflect the implied negativity.

Did you just say that an important aspect in passing feedback is to only pass complimentary feedback?

Well, to be fair, Chris is right: these were not sent in the spirit of celebrating the game...directly. Obviously, the message was to express how we felt the ending(s) were bland. Well, not bland. Bad choice of words: I'm sure the cupcakes are quite delicious! Uniform's a better word. I think it was sent in as a cheeky, light-teasing gesture, but I could see offense being taken as well.

Oh well: Happy for the kids!

Hey Chris & Gang,

That's really noble of you guys. I donated to the cupcake fund and am really glad to see them go to a good cause, thanks for doing that.

Even though there was a subtle message behind the cupcakes and you all are listening and care about that, many of us (certainly me!) think you guys are great and, regardless of the message, the endings, the debacle, etc, etc - you all are insanely great, creative, fun people and it's cool to get to interact with you here on these boards; thanks for taking the time to giving us this personal attention and keeping us up to date on this initiative and all of your hard work in general.

Remember guys, this could have been a lot worse.

-The cupcakes made it to Bioware.
-They were not thrown away or denied.
-They have received our messages.
-We got their attention.

I'm surprised they are giving them away, but oh well.

Be careful when you criticize this. Some trolls will try to make it seem like you're against charity if you respond negatively to this in any way.
