Chris and Gang: please don't find the initiative insulting. I think LoganKey and most of the group who donated did it in honest, good fun and high spirits. Based on your comments I don't think you guys are thinking that, just wanted to make clear.

They said no to the 3 choices and picked refuse.

We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one. 

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities,  as such it was decided that rather than passing  out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day.  Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this. We donated these cupcakes for YOU GUYS. I'm torn. Honestly I am. On one side I'm sure thes cupcakes will make some childs day. But on the other hand we made this for YOU. It feels sort of like this was planned from the get go, honestly. <_<

I agree with BioWare's choice in this matter. It was two-faced: superficially nice while ultimately motivated as a gesture of criticism rather than a gesture of appreciation. It was done in poor taste, ironically (IMO). I hope that future group actions will hold to more genuine and established channels of communication.

Yep. I have all of the messages (not all were cut out by Fuss, they are the white print-out at back). And those are being kept by the team.

With all due respect.
I believe we made our intentions extremely clear about why we sent these to the bioware team. It is because we love mass effect and we love the team. This gesture was to show that and fan loyalty, and we gave your team the benefit of the doubt that you would be decent and listen to our feedback.

Absolutely no issue with them being donated to kids.

Definitely disagree with you making a decision to misinterpret and twist our good intentions & announce that we did this for the wrong reasons.
It's simply not true.

To tell loyal amazing fans "yeah you did this cool thing but we decided you did it for the wrong reasons so we do not accept this" is something I can't even wrap my head around. I personally am really disappointed in your response to this amazing gesture.

Did anyone honestly think that they would accept the cupcakes? Personally, I'm fine donating money if it's ultimately for good use, like in this case. But the spokesmen/managers would never accept the donation, 'cause that would mean that they acknowledge our concerns about the ending. This way Bioware can pose as a generous donator to charity, the same way many people use to think that the charity drive was used by the fans - to gain the holier-than-thou image.

Well they couldn't keep the cupcakes. I find this nice that they gave those to this local youth shelter. Maybe if we get what we need (the end that this great game deserves), we could repeat a cupcake operation to thank them.
