Giving Shepard that same choice would go a long way to showing you understand where this went wrong.

BioWare made the right move, the fans made a sweet gesture but it was one that essentially said eat this humble pie because you screwed up, but we made them cupcakes so it is sweet.

I am sure they appreciate the gesture but I am not surprised this worked out the way it did.

I'm kinda sad about how it turned out.
Not the cake for children part, it was a good move.
People from Bioware should have at least eaten one cake and show it.
It was a gift , it did have a message that obviously they don't have to agree with.
But the ABC green, blue, red is like a fact.
Sometimes , you got to learn to laugh about yourself .
Anyway ,PR response getting old .

Cheers for the people who offers the cupcakes , you did a great thing .
Cheers for Bioware for giving cakes to kids.
But Thumbs down for turning down(politely) the whole thing.

Shouldn't always take everything at face value.

BioWare and Chris Priestly..I see what you did there...interesting. I predicted they would donate them to a charity...maybe I am right about this..who knows.

But giving them away feels like a "no we didn't you are wrong" kinda move. Not accepting cupcakes = not accepting the criticism.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities,  as such it was decided that rather than passing  out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day.  Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

So, by enabling BioWare to hand over 402 cupcakes to a local shelter without having *them* pay for it, the same community that's displeased with ME3 and wanted to use the cupcakes to point this fact out just provided BioWare with free good PR. Nicely done, folks. I think, next time we want to send a message, try to think of something that won't make the people we're upset with look good at our expense...

Im very glad some kids in a shelter gets cupcakes. But the thing is, You can be well sure that there will be photos here from that shelter with happy kids eating those cupcakes. And thats nice. However playing the cynic... I wonder if there will be as much internal photography on the cakes as there will be IGN and press on delivering them to the kids. And I wonder if the kids and the general press will be told why Bioware "suddenly" donated 1k worth of pastries. If I were in a PR dept, Id really try to omit it. Colour me a cynic and a pessimist. Maybe they just donated it to the shelter(s) to bury it quickly. But as it stands, its a deflection. Its giving away a present you were given because you didnt like it.

But all in all, the "Retake" guys proved a point and made a statement. Grats guys. You're awsome.
