Hell, I would have used that for the actual character model itself. We should have gotten to see her face, not just through some damn picture.

They go out of there way to give EDI a body to match her personality, and your telling me all they could muster up for Tali (a character since ME1 and a LI) is a picture using a stock photo? The romance itself was also weak.

I disgaree whole heartedly, I found the romance very well done.

As to her face, it was one of the last decisions made.  I don't think they had a good handle on how they wanted to do it.

As is, I guess I am one of the few that is satisfied with what they produced.

I thought the Romance overall in ME3 was thin. I can't believe you were satisfied with Tali's Romance conclusion.

Liaras had some pretty nice moments, time capsule the mind melding... It could have been better but i was happy with it overall. Until she teleported onto the normandy and crashed on another planet with vega...

My favorite imagining of Tali by far. I could never imagine her for myself but I desperately wanted it to be something like this. They should have had a fanart contest with the winner having their art used in the game instead of that cheap shoop.

So essentially a beauty contest like they did for female Shepard, no thanks.

Would have been far better than what we got and if you didn't like the way default FemShep looked then you could just customize her. Can't do that with a photoshopped Tali.

But... that's the same process that took Yvonne Strahovski's face and turned it into Miranda's.

Do you hate Tali or something?  Why would you do that to her?

And don't forget Chobot.
The only really good looking female face they produced is Jack.

Yvonne Strahovski's face is so much much much much more beautiful than her digital counterpart. Something went wrong while modelling the lower part of ther face.

And Diana Allers face... it's almost painful to watch...

Liara had the only fleshed out Romance in ME3 IMO, and it's because the writers always favored her as the Canon romance. It shows.

Not a fan of that OP. At least the woman in the photo is beautiful and in my opinion, fitting for the character of Tali. Rush job or not... it still fits her character. I think what Bioware should do, if anything, is actually use that picture and model Tali in the actual game with it.

I'm not a huge fan of the stock photo. It's probably the laziest thing I've seen in this game which is supposed to be character-centric; but, even more than that, I just don't think that quarians would look that similar to humans given the obvious variations of ALL other galaxy species.

Especially the hair, what would happen if you were in a combat situation and some hair fell in your face, you couldn't exactly fix it without a clean room. It just seems enormously impractical. So yes, the OP is what I'd prefer Tali, or all quarian, to resemble.

Here's another preference for a more-alien Tali. Or at least one that doesn't have a thick lush mass of hair that does nothing inside a suit except gather heat and moisture to become a petri dish for infections. Doesn't Jarvik say at some point that Quarians were considered attractive in his time?

You gotta admire the effort that went into that image in the OP.

The image in the OP is my favorite image for Tali so far.

And I've seen every image.

I prefer the other one, her face showing though her armor. Little button nose, short hair, similar wire thing running over her forehead.

Not that "alien" but I think it shows Tali's personality more though. Though an species shouldn't be built round one persons personality but whatever.

Yep, much better look for Tali, and for Quarians in general, then what we got. It's a good mix between human and alien. It's the sort of face we as humans, and our Shepard, would find attractive but that at the same time aliens such as Turians and Protheans, who it has been established in the game do find Quarians attractive, would find attractive.

I never saw Liara's romance but I was happy with Tali, not sure why that is odd. It satisfied me and all I desire is some post game closure.

As to the face, I prefer the canon picture. I do think the fan ones are well done but I prefer the original.

Again, it's a great piece of artwork, and I love the detail put into it, but it'd make a terrible Tali. The fringes are too Asari/Turian-like, the earlobe with that face is just nailing the Uncanny Valley, and the face itself looks like a mask that's not even attached to the rest of the head.

Honestly, the Tali that they chose was one of the possibilities. It's even in the artbook - they considered a very human-looking Quarian. The problem was that it was only a photoshop job of a model, instead of an in-game or cg model. Not the design itself.

Seems to me that Quarians are like Satyrs without the hooves or the fur. Gives them a mythological quality, actually.

Well, if you did you did.

But IMO it was very thin compared to Liara. And in fact, almost all the romances in ME3 were very lacking. But that's just me. If you don't think so, that's cool.

Glad you were satisfied.

It was pretty much a given that it would be impossible to please people with Tali's face. It had just been hyped too much. Personally I don't mind the face as such, but I think they did it very cheaply. The picture lacks any feature that artistically ties in with what we know of Quarian aesthetics. It had for example been a lot easier to accept the picture if she had only removed the helmet and you could identify Tali's suit beneath the face. The two finger hand was also photo-shopped pretty poorly. You can see that they just photshopped away two fingers on a human hand, rather than mimic the quarian hands in the game. Nothing wrong with the basic idea, just a bit shoddy work, which is hard to understand as they must have known this would be picked apart by the fans.

I guess I don't know what you mean by thin. I know Liara may have more content, but you get her much earlier than any other LI, not too surprising I suppose.

Really beautiful rendition of the "stocked" Tali used by Bioware. I don't mind Tali looking like that at all, human-like or not.
