I´d have requested Ash Sroka to model for Tali just as Yvonne Strahovski did for Miranda.
As demonstrated through out the game, looks like they were on a bender for most of the game, so why should this be any different. But using the actress who voiced to tail to be tali ..yeah that has a novel concept ring to it

Hell, I would have used that for the actual character model itself. We should have gotten to see her face, not just through some damn picture.
They go out of there way to give EDI a body to match her personality, and you're telling me all they could muster up for Tali (a character since ME1 and a LI) is a picture using a stock photo? The romance itself was also weak.
If you look at the actress who played EDI Tricia helfer and the EDI model that was used in game, there is a sorta resemblence there too. The only romance that was given any attention was liara.....If she was more like a charaecter that was voiced by the same actress in Starcraft II Dr Ariel Hanson. I would see that but all T'Soni did in ME1 was faint and fan girl crush over shepard..I was like ..Okay crazy lady ..time to go.

This site says it very well.

That's too bad.
Codexes have already said Quarians are very similar to humans.

It was pretty much a given that it would be impossible to please people with Tali's face. It had just been hyped too much. Personally I don't mind the face as such, but I think they did it very cheaply. The picture lacks any feature that artistically ties in with what we know of Quarian aesthetics. It had for example been a lot easier to accept the picture if she had only removed the helmet and you could identify Tali's suit beneath the face. The two finger hand was also photo-shopped pretty poorly. You can see that they just photshopped away two fingers on a human hand, rather than mimic the quarian hands in the game. Nothing wrong with the basic idea, just a bit shoddy work, which is hard to understand as they must have known this would be picked apart by the fans.
I agree, Tali's face was probably best left a mystery. That said, I am impressed by some of the fan concepts. The one in the OP I like for being alien, though I think the more human-looking version posted elsewhere seems a closer match to Tali's personality. Anyway, both images are excellent.

This. I'd rather her just keep the mask on than the OP and the stock photo.Naltair wrote...
It has been hinted at in various ME fiction that Quarians are very human like in appearance.

Coming from someone who isn't a Tali enthusiast, that picture has much more effort put into it and is fantastic. In that frame she hands you, she was just a purple human with 3 fingers for each hand and foot. She needed to be more alien-like.
This has my support!
That's good and all, but I believe it was established in the first game, through the Codex, that Quarian facial structure is highly similar to humans.
An Alien Tali would just be a lie.

This one was always my favorite of the fan arts. The OP's one always struck me as...kinda weird. Plus it doesn't follow a few things about Quarians, they don't have actual ears, only ear analogs.
For what it's worth, I actually liked the image we got in game regardless of the whole "stock photo" issue. I would like to see Bioware put that face on Tali's body in future DLC.

It also kind of fits in with the photo, but still looks a lot better than simply *insert stock image here*
Granted for what they did it was still a half decent stock image, could've definitely got a lot worse than what they did!
EDIT: And NOW the pictures above show up, and they turn out to be exactly the one I was thinking of LOL! Figures... I'm just glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way!

Ash Sroka is a very beautiful woman. IMO, her best feature are her eyes and maybe that could be somewhat difficult to "quarianize".

Really beautiful rendition of the "stocked" Tali used by Bioware. I don't mind Tali looking like that at all, human-like or not.

Dont give me the argument "But teh codex and books say they have humanly looking features" Drell have human features. In fact the color/texture of Thanes skin, lack of hair and eyes are about the only difference. That pic on the OP retains a similar amount of difference.
Quarians are aliens. Make them ALIEN. Not space elves.
