To be clear, even if I am unhappy with the quarians being a human, I can accept that if bioware absolutely wants it to stay that way. I just feel that if they were so lazy as to take a public domain photo and do a quick edit in photoshop, that there is a chance they didn't really commit to the quarian design either.

By hoping for a retcon, I am hoping they will spend more than five minutes on the design. Even if they keep it "rubber mask" human, at least flesh it out so they are more than humans with funky hands and lines on their face.

It's pretty and very well done, but not for me. I really like that other one that's been around too, the one with just the head, cowl still on.

Both are too humanoid, though (that's one aspect I really didn't like much about the races in the ME universe). I could really do with a race that doesn't have the same eyes, nose, and lip configuration, and Quarians would have been perfect for it. Hard to say what, exactly, but I hope some portraits like that emerge.

(If it really must, a nonhumanoid face can still be made pretty.)

To be fair, they didn't put too much effort into that Allers model. Just look at her face. 

I guess im thinking it was the textures on allers that did not help, like look at vega textures and with a smaller squad this time round i find it hard to believe they had no time to do anything.

Mass Effect is firmly semi hard sci-fi, but mostly Space Opera.  Humanoid or anthropomorphic aliens is pretty much a staple of Space Opera.

I always thought that Quarians shouldn't have humans noses. What they should have ought to be more reminiscent of a snout because that is the impression I get from looking at her vizor.


In other words, not a human in a mask as most of the pics in this thread seem to be.

Also I did not like the Tali+Garrus scene at the end if ME 3.

Tali+Kal'Reegor would have been perfect.

Wow, that truly is a great rendition. And to the OP: Yes I like that one very much as well. Tali's thick mane of hair makes no sense at all. But then again: neither does the ending, so...

It's also my favorite Tali, I would have used it. Hell Bioware, couldn't you just give the girl a good bit of money and use this instead of a bull****ty stock photo - you didn't even get the hands right!
