I don't mind it, but to be fair someone some time ago made a test with pictures accounting for refraction and the colour of Tali's mask (purple)...
He basically proved that in order to "see" her face through the mask like we do, she would have to be pretty dark skinned (like deep grey/almost black), because lighter colours would not be seen through the purple colour of the mask... So, if anything, she'd probably have to have dark skin and very light (white probably as we don't see them at all) "eyebrows", "browlines" and "hair", I like that interpretation too...
I wonder how the canon face would look with colours flipped like that...
