I agree.  It feels, unlike 99.9% of the game, that this was done on the "cheap".  An original rendering would have been nice, but a photo was acceptable.  Heck, they could have even scanned the actual voice actress Liz Sroka--that would have been awesome!  But, no, take a (nice) stock photo, Photoshop out (badly) the two fingers, add some lines/tats(?) and presto!  Cheaply done.  C'mon BW!  Did you honestly think gamers who are obsessed with this game (like yours truly) wouldn't notice?!---or is this the evil EA overlords dabbling????

Indeed, this photo shop is so inconsistent with the quality of the rest of the game. Granted they really cant please everyone with as far as what she looks like, but dont tell me you cant come up with something better than THAT. Here i was thinking there would be something unique about quarians that sets them apart from the other races like krogans and turians, but apparently theyre just humans with tattoos.

Something's gotta give here.

Her looking too human--her face mesh under the mask is human, so it'd be weirder if she ended up looking like the predator.



Using the stock image as the basis would've been fine, but it would've been much better if they actually had her in a suit.

Thought it could've used more lens flare though.

That was just a placeholder, so you could see a few general shapes under the mask, things like the nose.

^ this. they could have had the picture in cabin, but when the love scene came they could at least had her face redered even if it was for like 5 seconds.

I couldn't agree more.
I'm fine with however Bioware chooses to make her look as long as they do it right and not with some stock photo.
Tali's fanbase took an arrow to the knee on that one. ;P

I've seen some 'fan-created' pictures of Tali's face reveal that were hundreds of times better than what was in the game.

I didn't have too many problems with the picture. For the most part I felt the actual image was somewhat irrelevant as the actual interaction was well done. I think I still would have preferred *not* showing the image (frankly I would have found it more amusing if Shep got the picture but we couldn't see) but in the end it's really trivial compared to the emotional tone of the exchange. Maybe the gift was actually the picture frame and the image is just one of those stock photos that come with picture frames...

Again, I would have preferred no image, but in either case, the reveal is a tiny part of the romance and doesn't devalue the rest of the interaction, unlike, say, the ending.

Ah, but therein lies the problem.  If the Protheans thought they were attractive I'd have thought they would look less human, as he certainly doesn't say that to Shepard.  Seriously, she looks like some chick on a beach.  What a load of malarkey.  Her eyes weren't even glowing, contrary to what we see in every Quarian scene in the whole series.  She's just some white girl with missing digits in a suit.    Couldn't she at least have been purple or orange or something?

I'm totally a Talimancer, but I wasn't quaked to the core with her face reveal. She's attractive in the picture. I wasn't expecting a reptilian Crypt Keeper or anything as it is known that Quarians most resemble humans out of all the galactic aliens.

My beef is that it has been such a built up moment that seeing her face via a photo next to your bed was... lacking. A nice gesture from Tali which added to the relationship, but BW had the right moment on Rannoch to show her face, and they fumbled.

I don't see the problem with that - look at the people on the forum who thought Garrus was attractive....

I'm right with you on the photo, though - very silly.

And, before the Jack, Thane, Miranda, Jacob, etc... crew jump in again - at least you all got to see what your lover looked like.  Not some washed out stock photo doctored off of the internet....
