The Retake movement as a whole does not condone violence, harassment, trolling, etc. against Bioware employees or anyone else, so I apologize on behalf of any misguided miscreants.

However, with that in mind...

As you can probably tell by my name, I've been a Bioware fan since Neverwinter Nights.  I loved them and their games.  The vast majority of Mass Effect 3 was a true masterpiece and indeed a 10 out of 10 game, in my opinion.  In fact, I was ready to proclaim it as my favorite game ever -- the first game to take that crown since Metal Gear Solid in 1998.  Beautiful, heartwarming, glorious, thrilling, emotional.

Then, the ending hit me like an anvil.  The game and the ending are like night and day.  It does not fit in the Mass Effect universe.

So, as far as asking for a "real" ending, I am unapologetic.  I'm sure we can discuss this like smart people and come up with a good solution for everyone.

I keep seeing people in this thread any many others saying "When/if they release a new ending I'll take back everything I said/eat my words."
Why? They released the game with this ridiculous ending hoping we would swallow it with a smile. If you pay someone to provide a product and they provide a shoddy product, will you kiss that person's feet when they fix their mistake? No, you will likely be on the fence when it comes to getting products from them in the future and you certainly wouldn't act like the mistake never happened.
Bioware and the employees of Bioware are not your friends. They would not be doing you a favor by fixing the ending.

I accept the ending with a smile; watched it over youtube, and am content.

They do not owe me or anone else a favor or apology by enhancing the ending, but am glad they are considering alternatives.

And some folks at Bioware are my friends; as much as that is possible over the internet these past 12+ yes.

But you are correct in that I do not need to take anything back, so one out of four ain't bad.....

Apologize.... for what?  If anything Bioware should be apologizing to us for the ending.

^ That is a good point. I felt like I had been trolled when I beat the game for the first time. I was in such shock and disbelief.

I'll apologize as soon as they fix the worst cover mechanic in the history of gaming. They don't even have to touch the ending.

And I'd like to add, by fighting for a new ending, we're not just fighting for us. We're fighting for Mass Effect, for Bioware's reputation and integrity, for Admiral Hackett, our squadmates, David Anderson, etc.

They should apologize to us for making us want to use brain bleach to forget the endings.

We should give them credit for what they did well, and criticize what we thought they didn't.

It's our role to do so as the fans we claim to be.

Those who have insulted them should apologize and regret their actions, but the rest of us who have been cordial with Bioware should just stick to our guns. Screw the media in my opinion. Unbiased opinions aka: your own, are what you need to consider.

Let me put it this way:

Those who harassed, sent threats, review bombed, demanded, lied etc. SHOULD be apologizing for being....well, need I say it?

Those who voiced their concerns in a civil, constructive manner were perfectly within their rights to do what they did.

I think that people need stop making hundreds of hate threads. I think they have the idea. I have nothing to apologies for as I have only asked/ beg for something reasonable... a paid DLC Alternate ending(s) more in line with what was advertised.

We? Who the hell is 'we'? Do we know eachother? If you did some poor remarks in the heat of the moment regarding BW or this ending, YOU go apologise. I don't owe them a rat's ass.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED WITH THEIR PR DECLARATIONS, THE WHOLE "HUMANISING THE ADVERSARY STRATEGY"! HOLD THE LINE YOU WEAK MINDED FOOLS!

Not that I agree with review bombing, lying etc. but Bioware will only deserve a goddamn apology when they apologize for the bull**** they did with From Ashes, TIM and the Catalyst. Defending ME3 is all well and fine because it has very good moments, but Bioware as a company? It doesn't ****ing deserve it.

I like all the comparisons to food in this thread. Should I be mad at the stuffed artichoke for giving me gas pains after devouring the entire thing? No, it was tasty and great at that time, no regrets. After typing that, I guess that is how I feel about ME3, make sense?

Understandable.

I can live with "From Ashes" (I do like Javik, that guy's refreshingly pragmatic). But TIM and the Catalyst sure NEED some work.

As a company? No.

The devs who poured their hearts & souls into this (It really shows, flaws or no) are a different matter IMO.

Do you think those people would? Do you think those people ever thought or think they did something wrong?

If one simply stated their opinion about the game (nothing more, nothing less), then no, there's no need to apologize.

(i.e. saying something like "I didn't enjoy Mass Effect 3 because I found it slightly rushed in certain aspects such as the ending...")

If one's consistently posting stuff that's insulting and directly attacking Bioware itself (especially the employees), then that's a bit uncalled for. If anybody did this, they should thoroughly consider apologizing.

Don't get me wrong though, I thought ME3 was a hell of a ride, bad ending or no. I'd still play it again, and I salute Bioware for their hard work.

I like Javik as well. I just hate the whole DLC for 10 dollars on launch day.
