Hey Jewel, how's it going?
I ain't done nothin' to apologize for but don't like the thought that maybe some members of the Bioware team might be feeling terrible. I guess I feel sorry for them.
its going
and hell, I sympathize with how they must be feeling right now. negative feedback hurts. and I'm pretty sure that when they were working on Mass Effect - they cared a great deal about their work. but at the same time, here's a personal example. I have designed pieces to sell, that are my favorites, I slaved over them, babied them, was pretty happy with how they turned out. and people didn't like them. instead, they absolutely loved something that took me fraction of the time to create and I never in a million years could anticipate just how popular it would get (bioware's equivalent would be Tali and Garrus - they admited as much, saying that they didn't think people wuld love them so much, let alone want to romance them). does it hurt that my favorites are not apreciated? hells yes. do I want costumers to apologize for it, or for telling me why those pieces don't work for them? hell no. what do I do? I listen to feedback and create pieces that customers actualy loved. use them as starting point and work in that direction.
so yes, I feel bad for them. but I don't feel sorry for them or need to apologize. because such is life of a commercial artist. you don't create for yourself. you create for your consumer base.

Which is rather odd, since Garrus in my opinion is the most well written and rounded character, not only of Mass Effect but of many games I've experienced.

The ending of the game is terrible I just don't see why it wasn't done like Mass Effect 1 & 2, big boss fight then make decisions on whether to destroy the Reaper or join with the Reapers to me it should of been that simple.
Ick. Why does every game have to end with a boss fight?

Considering how poorly Bioware has addressed the situation, not at all no.
This. Priestly locking down my other topics about the false advertisements is very telling.

not really odd. just a case of unexpected reaction really. obviosuly they tried to write him as a good character, they just didn't anticipate the fan reaction to him. pretty sure didn't didn't anticipate reaction people would have to Jacob either. and Thane was outright written with female players in mind, and while it did work for some, it didn't work for nearly as many as they thought it would.
its not as uncommon as it seems. I don't think when JK Rowlins wrote Harry Potter, she anticipated just how popular it would become. and I'm just as sure that when Michael Bay made Revenge of the Fallen and Dark side of the Moon, he had no idea that so many fans would.. dislike it.
you do your best and then you work with the feedback you get. or you either hope for luck/stars aligning or something, or accept being starving misunderstood artist who MIGht be apreciated posthumously. All the great artists through the ages knew that. after all? vast majority of them created for Patrons, rather then for their own amusement

It doesn't. Back in the day Black Isle Studios, one time peers of Bioware, developed Planescape: Torment.
It is one of the handful of games ever, that I gave 9/10 to. The final encounter was not automatically combat. It could be, depending on how you play, but by the same token ('player choice', hint-hint @ Bioware) it didn't have to be.

Only the fans that bully other fans for liking the endings should apologize.
Bioware did nothing wrong, and the fans neither. It was an enormous conflict of interests: Bioware wanted fans to like the endings and get excited for the next expansions/DLC for ME3 and the next series of games in the ME universe.
Fans didn't like the ending, and everything just crashed. But no one did anything wrong.
I'm gonna get flamed for this post.
I can't agree with that. Bioware lied about the ending. That's wrong. So while some fans were wrong to make threats and such, Bioware did do wrong. They misled their customers.

People who think games are not art should apologize (it's pig ignorant to think this).
Can something be considered art if it ends by telling you to buy other products? Imagine if a film ended with a preview for a Director's Cut that tells the entire story?
That's not art. It's just a product. Can video games be art? Absolutely. Titles like Flower and Journey come to mind. But something like ME3 or Uncharted, or CoD? No, not really. It's just entertainment.

No, it isn't. Proclaiming your opinions as facts is the most childish way to have a discussion.
Entertainment=/=art.
Can it? Of course, but just like everything in life context is key.
