No, it isn't. Proclaiming your opinions as facts is the most childish way to have a discussion.

Entertainment=/=art.
Can it? Of course, but just like everything in life context is key.

Think the dude was joking, but I could be wrong.

Are you really this stupid? Film making is an art. Photography is and art. There are some really good pornos out there both in video and photograph.

Oh yeah, BioWare definitely owes us a big apology for the false advertising.

People should stop believing adverts in general. And what you get from any given company in the prerelease phase of any given product is nothing else than PR and advertising hype.

So I don't think Bioware owes and apology, since they only did what everyone does. Problem is, even after the barrage of everyday advertising people are still joining the hype.

When DAII came out and people were (rightfully in my opinion) apalled, those same people hyped Skyrim without having anything besides the developers making fancy speeches. Then Skyrim came out and people started complaining about how unfinished it seemed. Again, the were right in saying so, but wrong basing their expectations on PR BS.

Same with ME3. I warned against the ongoing hype some six months ago, but everyone told me how great that would turn out, since the developers had said so. And now take a look, again rightful complaints, but again those same people based their expectations on adverts and fancy speeches without having seen the real deal.

Of all the people to feel sorry for in this mess Bioware is last on my list...

Say your car runs fine 2 months and then completely breaks down, you bring it into the dealer. You both know it's defective when you bought it (a lemon) but they haven't decided whether to charge you to fix it or not.

Do you apologize for the mess? No.

funny thing is a game isnt a car so your example is invalid

same go's for the whole resteraunt argument as well

Context is an opinion. I just really don't feel like talking to you, quoting the Big Lebowski is a childish way to have a discussion.

Are you saying the concept of context is an opinion? Or that context is subjective? If the latter, you're making my point for me. If the former, you're an idiot.

-Thank you for that nice ad hominem. Porn is many things. Its "artsy" stuff and its "Scat" and everything inbetween. Somehow I do not believe anyone would call a scatflick "art". But to each his own I suppose.

Yeah video games are art but they are also a product first. Mass Effect 3 wasn't made to make an artistic statement, it was made for a profit and thinking otherwise is a bit naive. If a customer is unhappy with a purchased product then yes they can complain and shouldn't have to apologize, asking for Bioware to make a good ending is within their right but Bioware doesn't HAVE to make any additions to their product (though that'd be a poor business decision imho)

Nothing to apologize for, I am customer dissatisfied with their product, I do not apologize to waiter because my meal was not up to par.

You're talking to me right now. You could have ignored my post entirely. But you chose to further our dialogue in an immature way intead of explaining your viewpoint.

If anything bioware should apologise to the fans, they made alot of promises and failed to live up to them, that itself deserves an apology.

creating entertainment is an art form. deal with it.

Yeah and that art form creates a complete product, then it is put on shelves to be sold to many consumers and marketed with promises to deliver an experience, a epic story that will satisfy the fans.

Never had so many problems as with this particular game :(

How can fans telling a company the ending sucks be a personal attack?

Personal Attacks are bad. Telling a company their product did not leave up to promises is feedback.

He says in the OP;

Was it really necessary to attack BioWare personally for something that isn't even THAT bad?

Thats not what he's addressing.

My very first post says "Personal attacks are bad."

You can't speak for the OP and I can't speak for the OP - but the way I read that is he doesn't think the ending is that bad, and people calling BioWare out on it might think about saying sorry.

So I'll say again. Personal Attacks are bad. Telling a company their product did not live up to promises is feedback.

Can you honestly refuse to acknowledge that promises were not upheld?
