No.

Fans should never apologize for disagreeing with the developers of what they are fans of, whether it is BioWare and Mass Effect 3, a director and a movie, a writer and a book, a singer and music, etc. Fans are passionate about what they are fans of. If the developer disappoints a fan, for whatever reason, then this fan should be allowed to politely voice their opinion as to why they are not happy. It should not matter whether there is one fan or one hundred fans or one thousand fans who are unhappy because it matters to the individual fan. As long as that fan expresses their dislike of the material in a sensible and rational way, they should not apologize for doing so.

Now, at the same time, fans who abuse the developer (again, whether us, a movie director, a music act, etc) as a form of feedback, in my opinion, should apologize. Not for their unhappiness, but for the way they have chosen to express it. Rage, hate, swearing, spreading lies, etc are not acceptible. Sensible and rational complaints, criticism and expression of disapproval are all fine, but there is a line that can be crossed that should not be crossed when trying to be heard. When a fan uses these as their form of expression they do damage to other fans with similar concerns who have talked about their complaints in a rational manner.

Coordinator, we determine this is the mostly correct.

While we originally believed the conclusion to be unsatisfactory, we eventually came to the conclusion that the ending was actually rather acceptable. This in no way implies that we believe all organics should think in the same way our data computes and we find it acceptable for them to dislike this conclusion, but is it correct to try to pressure the Bioware Makers into altering a factor of the game which some organics enjoy?.

However, we do not believe that organics should apologize for anything. We determine that an apology is merely a word. If you wish to apologize it is entirely unnecessary. Instead you should refrain from committing the act which caused you to feel regretful in the first place. This way through your personal action you can show how regretful you are.

Additionally, as a message to those who dislike the conclusion - Be civil. If you decide to insult the Makers or complain aggressively then the probability of the Makers listening to your request is significantly lessened.

Edit:     It seems as if most organics are dissapointed by the conclusion due to the fact they had high expectations for what is generally believed to be the final installment of the "Mass Effect" series, or at least the story of Shepard Commander.

Authors of other digital media have done this before and although it may have dissapointed their followers, there has not often been this much commotion. If you do not enjoy the conclusion, feel free to voice your opinion, but do not expect nor demand the Makers change it on your whim.

For those who complain that BioWare did not deliver what they promised: that is a matter of interpretation. They may believe that they did what they said they would, and the general populace believes otherwise.

Seriously, check out one of the threads collecting dev quotes and compare them to what we got in ME3. There really isn't much room for interpration.

But people! Is it really the first time? A lot of companies have done so, and there is not nearly as much rage towards those.

So... because companies have done wrong in the past means we shouldn't call them out on it now? Btw, I sincerly hope Bioware/EA can even understand why they got a ****storm of this magnitude with this game. Because that would mean that they could actually learn from it. My hopes for that are rather small, though...

Yet, they still claim that they have done as they promised, so they must believe they did so, otherwise, they would probably not have published it like that. As much as people believe the big evil corporation will lie for kicks, it's just bad for business. They know that, so they give out a product they believe fulfills that promise. I am not saying that the consumers don't have the right to be disappointed, but that does not mean they deliberately made promises just to back down on them. After all, BioWare fans are not known to take these things gently.

As I stated in the beginning, people have the full right to write their criticism, and of course if they feel they've been mislead they should voice that opinion, I never stated they had no right to say they feel that the product did not live up to the promises made, did I?
But BioWare is not the first company to do so, and no one listens to the angry person screaming profanities about their products, especially when they can find sensible people who voice their criticism constructively.
Would you honestly rather listen to the person starting with:
'Here's what's wrong with this piece of **** you wrote:...'
than the one who says:
'Listen, I would like to explain that certain things are not satisfying about this product, for instance...' ?

It is a nice touch to write a comment this way. And I find it a mature, civil response, with a touch of humor :D, you don't normally see many comments with that mix.

The ending was a total f*ckup and it is IMPOSSIBLE to argue that it is coherent, logical, or good in any way. It is utter crap. It is VERY well critiqued in this youtube video...a critique that you might receive from a college lit prof on your HORRIFIC writing fail: You do NOT introduce some Deus Ex Machina crap at the end. You do NOT viiolate every tenet of the game at the ending. You do NOT make sh*t up out of drunk, retarded, pudding brains and slap it into script. YOU DO NOT CREATE SYNTHETICS TO WIPE OUT ORGANICS SO THEY WONT BE WIPED OUT BY THEIR OWN SYNTHETICS.

Is calling the writing, and thus the writer(s), juvenile, ridiculous, cloudy, muddled, inchoate, and just plain hacks count as uncivil when it is factually true? You are what you write and think. Reality doesn't care if you think it is mean, cruel, rude...reality just is. We all have to accept reality.

No kidding.

Why is this thread allowed to be open and the other one not?

I'd like an answer on this. It's an insanely hypocritical double standard.

You know that this post and the previous two post before this one are the kind of post that could get a thread locked itself. Also Chris said himself in that page, "thanks for the opinions". No one has to accept opinions of one or the other.
