Okay, so a lot of people don't like Han'Gerrel in Mass Effect 3, and I can sympathise. But look at it this way. Three lives, even Shepard and Tali's lives, don't mean much in the grand scheme of things, not from his point of view. The Geth dreadnaught is the immediate threat, and needs to be dealt with immediately.
The tactical situation changed, Han had to change with it. He's a practical military commander, one who underestimates how important Shepard is to the war effort, but I have to admire his pragmatism.

I was surprised by his action, in the second game he tells us how he and Tali's father save the ship they were on with its crew. I got the impression he was a cool guy and then in this game he decides to just disregard us, not to mention Tali, his friend's daughter...

Yes indeed - he is overly aggressive and misreads the situation several times. There's a difference between being pragmatic and being stubborn. Given the chance to withdraw (which has to date been the best way to deal with a Geth attack) he instead presses the "advantage" and misses his opportunity to evacuate the fleet to safety. And risks the very lives who gave him that opportunity.
Good call.
And "the situation changed" is no way to address this - he knew that if you succeeded the situation was going to change - duh. He was just waiting for his chance to strike the whole time.

I (still) like Han Gerrel's character, and believe he was trying to do his best in an incredibly desperate situation. However, trying to blow me up along with a Geth ship does still count as a faux paus in terms of friendship. Maybe he just had a lot of trust in Shep/Tali that they would escape in time?

Oh, I like him - he's not a bad guy. Just not great judgement in my opinion. I actually liked almost all of the Quarians - they seem pretty cool in general.

Frankly, I think Han'Gerrel is just showing renegades how it's done

What I found interesting is that in ME2 Han Gerrel is easily the nicest of the Quarian admirals, to both Tali and Shepard, and Koris is the one being a haughty ass to everyone. In ME3 the writers seemed to have felt the need to do a 180 with that particular situation.
