Didn't read the whole thread, but I feel I must post this.

If media people see gore, destruction, killing, slaughter, pain they don't have a problem with it, hell, parents even buy those kind of games for their kids, but when they see an erotic scene or even a side boob then they freak out and say that they won't buy a M+17 rated game for their 10 year old child because it might traumatize them.

Anyone else see that this statement doesn't make sense?

Oooh! Explosions, death, trauma, suicide, that's cool!
BOOBS!? WHAT?! CALL THE MEDIA!

In any case "bra in shower" is stupid (IMHO). If you wanna do a showerscene do it neck up or accept the nudity.

If the rating requires a bra do it elsewhere...

Actually the shower scene made sense. Traynor wanted to flirt with Shep, so she left the door open, but immediately showing everything to her commanding officer would probably be a bit over-thre-top... even if she hopes to bed her.

I just meant in general :) ... or maybe it's just me on that point.

Does it make sense when Shep hops in wearing her full casual dress? In ny case her dress uniform.

She was... very eager.

I guess if it had been mshep it would be called standing at attention?

Seriously, Americans have this weird thing about nudity.

ya, america is the biggest porn producer of the world, they even have hooters and playboy, yet somehow they try to shun all the nudity out of games and books and public places...americans are a crazy type of people.

Crazy eh? Next time you want our passive and active defense and technology and guaranteed defense from our military we'll remember that we're just "crazy" to you, and ignore you.

As far as i know, we europeans are better than americans. About everything is. They are no longer the technical marvel everyone looked up to. China owns half of u guys right? So why dont u guys keep playing soldier boy in iraq, afghanistan and pretty sure iran in the future too and let us deal with our own problems. America wouldnt last a day on its own.

Do you have 11 aircraft carriers (3 more to be constructed by end of 2012) that are each as powerful as the 7th most powerful nation?

HUH HUH?!

Do you have a nuclear missile anti-missile defensive system? Do ya?

Oh... no you don't.

I've yet to see cigars be added to the game yet, so no nudity until they do!

The reason I want cigars added is to replace all the nasty space-cigarettes everywhere in the damn ship and game, and to have camaraderie, rather than cancer.

I don't understand the argument about America, its true we are really weird about nudity and sexually repressed. It's an undeniable fact and I don't get how it relates to Iraq and aircraft carriers lol.

Yeah, but my dad is bigger than your dad, so in theory would kick your dad's American ass and no amount of nukes is gonna change that. These type of conversations take me back to my pre school days.

Whilst we're here, just give me your lunch money and we'll call it quits!

Because we were too "crazy" and so we're obviously "too crazy" to defend them in any capacity.

Obviously my dad, old as he is, would just shoot you.

This is not really the place for political discussions but have you never wondered  that MAYBE Iraqis would prefer to remain free instead of being shot, sorry I mean DEFENDED by Americans?

According to their own requests, the Iraqi government does not wish that actually, it would give an opening for terrorists to seize the government.

That may be so. Yet if all thought like that, noone would fight the US to start.

But that has really gone far enough, lets rather go back to pixelated nudity.

Actually if the choice is between war or xyz dictator wars saves lives.

But this is way off topic...

It comes to something when parents would rather let their children see the town they live in get decimated by a hyper advanced machine race which was secretly coverd up by the government (well more denied repetitively) thanlet them see a glimpse of boob which they were busy suckling on but a few yaers earlier. They already know what they are and hestly isn't it even weirder to show them some queer little fade in/fade out sex scene like Liara then to show nudity and then a fade to black?

Child: "Mommy what are Shepard and Liara doing?"

Mommy Well... dear... umm... you see when two people love each toher very much sometime stuff just fades to black.

Child: So when If fall in love I will be trapped in darkness?

Mommy: Yeah... whatever.

RAHTER THAN:

Child: look mommy they look like your but blue!

Mommy :Yes... yes they do dear.

Well this is a mature game... in the first place.

Rated mature at least.

As for America being uncomfortable with sex. We still use the STORK as a representation of how babies are made lol.

As an american, I completely agree with this post.

We practically have a monopoly on porn and use the "sex sells" moto on just about every-****ing-thing, but show even the slightest nipple slip on TV/Video games and everyone loses their ****.

I mean, really...our entire current society is ****ing built on sex. And we have some weird double standard when it comes to other media? lol

Someone saw fit to throw in the politics card, which by the way is a sure road to locking this thread.

And I wouldn't say it's all Americans. It's just that weirdos seem to have stronger lobbies than normal people.

Hence the use of the word "current" in my post. Post 1960's, it's been all about sex.

Allthough in all honesty here... I'm danish and I was weirded out when my dad tried to have "the talk" with me at the age of 23. That was mostly a timing issue though...

Apart from that. Well in my family I've discussed sex with my grandmother who were 70 at the time... General discussion offcourse.

Wouldn't it be more likely that our current society is built on technology and the automobile?

How about a compromise? It's built on car insurance ads and third rate technology.

Third rate?

You are aware we made Japan what it is when we revamped their entire development mentality when we sent over some of the most well known and famous economists and sociologists to bring them up to speed with technology. A long time ago Japan was known for products that broke BADLY. Then we fixed their worker-mentality and concepts of scale.

Anyway, we are the leading edge on nanotechnology, laser research, military technology, and aeronautics.
