What's with the lack of nudity?

That said, they could do something with the bedsheets and whatnot to maintain the illusion of nudity while also maintaining realism.
I speak of Ashley, since I don't know many women that will do the deed, them put their underwear back on before going to sleep.

Playing witcher 2 made me feel like a pervert. The constant stream of sex scene did not improve the gameplay in any way. They're only purpose was so that teenagers will see them and say: "this game has sex in it! It's the best game in the world. I'm gonna give it a ten on metacritic!". Other than that it wasn't that much better than da2 and in some ways it was inferior. Its because of games like that, that people think D&D is all about the orgies.
I argue it was better than DA2 in a lot of ways, for one I could actually play through it, THAT ALONE makes it better. DA2 felt dull.

In the UK, they have a system called BBFC. As such, the ME1 game got a 12+ rating. And strangely enough, I've seen a few imports into Denmark from the UK with this rating.
Denmark and most European countries uses the rating from PEGI.info - they used to have a questionnaire for you to look at so you could see how the ratings were done. And in it, it explicitly says that if 'in the game there's nudity shown e.g. a breast or a bottom, it will not in itself be enough to give the game an 18+ rating.' The ME3 games are rated 18+ for language (swearing) and for violence. I don't know why exactly, but is has something to do with what's in the game. If a game contains violence that will result in people being killed, shot or gunned down, even when they're unarmed, the game will get an 18+ rating. It will also get an 18+ rating, if the game's violence result in people looking similar to real people are being killed and bleed as a result of this. Example: e.g the husks in ME1, or if a robot looks like a person and bleeds green oil or something like that.
A sex or love scene where a breast is shown or a bottom is shown or a partial sideboob is shown won't ever resualt in an 18+ rating on its own merits in the PEGI system. And I'm pretty sure that neither Germany nor Austria would demand this sort of nudity to be cut out of (any) ME game.
As for myself, I thought the Liara love scene from ME1 was perfect and that Bioware yet again said the bar high as to storytelling in games should and could evolve. Then Fox News came....and Bioware got maybe a bit scared. But the, the whole bisexual and gay thing happened - and nothing really happened, in a bad way, I mean. To me, it is a wonder why a video game can't show something that to be seen in nearly every teen movie or teen tv show or romantic comedy today.
As for the sex or love scene between Liara and Ashley, I've heard that there is a shower scene involved? Seriously? This is what the writers came up with - the most cliché idea when two women? ---- nevermind... you can think for yourself, you're smart people...

Really we should not have to deal with the whole "about to have sex... fade to black... cut to pillow talk" scenes. Come on the Witcher + Witcher 2 is the example you should be following.
Though even their nudity isn't complete.
Their nudity is more than enough in W2, and is far too common to be realistic either.
It's a adult-themed fantasy series, reality left its underpants in the barn. I think any declaration of "it's far too common to be realistic" is moot, but here's the thing, if I was a demon slayer travelling with my occassional bed warmer/mage/girlfriend/partner, I'm pretty sure we'd be constantly at it while journeying through the woods, and across the fields. Quite frankly, I can't see sex not featuring...
Adult doesn't mean sex, that's the thing that gets me.
By making it so adult just means sex and drugs, alcohol, smoking, and lots of vulgarities... you're basically labeling adults as immature.
Witcher 2 had a lot of good, but it also had a lot of bad in regards to both of the games and how they portrayed it. And the damn naked cards...
I would not be having sex all the time, I'd be training A LOT.
AND having sex. You know you would.
If my life was on the line and my chances of survival and thus the many future instances of sex or cigar smoking or whatever the hell I wanted was on the line I would dedicate all my time to GETTING TO THAT POINT which means TRAINING so I don't die.
LOTS O TRAINING / FIGHTING / PLANNING, no time for sex. Wait for later. Better.
Wow, we're really wired differently.
After sharpening my blade or axe. Sex.
Preparing for my battle with the Orc Warlord. Sex.
Stressed about planning to retake a stronghold. Sex.
After sword practice. Sex.
Journey across the fields. Field Sex.
Meet an elven maiden. Convince her to have a threesome with us.
Sex.
Rally the men for battle. Battle
After Battle. Sex.
Travel across the seas. Sex (I'm not the Captain, and quite happy to remain in my quarters, and strengthening my lower back and buttocks muscles)
Plan the final siege. Sex.
Kill the Boss.
Post-Boss Sex
The fact that Shepard had so little sex was unnatural.

Both scenes crappy. They could have done camera angles for the Traynor/FemShep one and had them both completely nude but not showing any naughty bits. Could have done the same for FemShep with the FemShep/Liara scene with FemShep completely nude just camera angles. They did the camera angles for Liara in that scene, wouldn't have been that hard to do the same for FemShep.
All because 5 years ago Fox said that ME1's romance scenes were porn.

It's not a matter of nudity as fan service ("porn") but immersion - e.g. women having a shower whilst fully dressed breaks my immersion. If you are going to do a nude scene then do it right or not all all; this silly standard-issue-underwear for everyone is nonsense.I don't care about it, i don't need it.
Shepard keeping her standard issue Alliance bra and panties is not at all conspicuous.they did not romance Liara or saw her sex scene on youtube.

I find it funny when people say there is no nudity in ME3, it's clear they did not romance Liara or saw her sex scene on youtube. She brings back the side boob and blue bum back. That's enough for me. Her scene was touching and more "sexy" then the crap in TW2 imho.
I do find it a bit odd though that Liara would be actually naked in her scene, but have it be mostly disguised by camera angles and limb positioning. You'd think they could just do that for everyone, rather than having weird underwear shower scenes or the like.
Ah well. Such is the irony of the world. Exploding heads and biomechanical monstrosities are fine. Nipples are forbidden.

I can confirm that, since being from Austria we have full frontal nudity in prime time tv. Same goes for Germany. The only thing not being adorsed is hardcore porn. Showing genitals or actual intercourse is a no go - before midnight.
In my parts we wouldn't raise the rating for strong language either. There are pop songs being played throughout the day having much stronger language than Mass Effect could ever have.
The real issue in Europe is the violence. Games with 18+ ratings are usually rated that high because of their violent nature. Which is, as I might add, equally stupid in my opinion. No serial killer or school shooter really needed a video game to go postal.

No it's not. Liara has midn sex with you, you don't need to be fully naked to have sex with Liara. Also in thisHeather Cline wrote...
Alex exactly. Also having sex say with Liara fully nude while FemShep is in bra and panties throughout the entire sex scene is also immersion breaking. Then when they wake up Liara is still nude while femShep is still in bra and panties. Again makes no freaking sense.
you xan't even see Shepards small clothes so you can easly picture she took it off. It's not immersion breaking.

Well it's a continuation of W1 and a demonstration of how different countries view depicting sex in games. In many ways it's a throw back to the days of Howard.

Also on the 360 version of the game Liara's romance scene with FemShep was cut very very short.
Same goes for Traynor/FemShep scene that got cut short too.

I wasn't even aware of that.
If they show blood it seems realistic enough. Funnily enough they don't go to that lengths to show gory bodies like the CSI series does in German or Austrian shows. But they don't censor that either when showing it on tv.

Notice how he wins a lot of battles? You might find that a lot of training can be had and that sex can actually distract you, such as thinking about having sex and other things, it's not the healthiest to be doing.
You use sex so often you basically destroy its importance and it becomes just a "thing that's good", wherein saving it for times where it can be most appreciated is going to impact it more.
When you're dead, you won't be having any sex, while I'll be alive after that battle, I will be able to if I so choose.

Seriously though. They weren't afraid of having homosexual relationships in ME3, but shower makout in bra for Traynor and full clothing for Shepard? Seems kinda wishy-washy to me.

It was something I came across looking at old games. This is probably the most extreme example.
