anyone got any ideas on how to take these things down quick? I keep getting hammered by them....even with the nifty Geth Mini-gun that's handy.

Lower the difficulty level.

I take the one in the middle out first, then run that way and kite the other two. That tactic was a lot easier with my Infiltrator than my Adept, just because I could cloak and they'd shoot at my teammates for a while!

Do the most tactical repositioning and use the most medigel. That was probably the hardest fight in the game for my Vanguard, but I wasn't exploiting Nova at that point. Maybe that makes it easier.

I take out the one on the right as quickly as possible, then get into cover over there, then get my squadmates in cover. It's kind of a crapshoot after that, but I was able to get through it it on both playthroughs.

Concentrate your fire on first one to take it down fast. Then move around to group other two together. Use aoe tech's or biotic combos. I also had Liara there with maxed stasis buble. Not an issue at all. I played on hard though, not insanity.

use Tali's Sabotage on the one in the middle and then run all the way past him and let them fight it out, when they get next to you, hack the next one, and shoot both of them, keep repeating

Depending on your class I suppose... if you are a Vanguard... get all 3 to surround you and... Charge Nova them to oblivion... even on Insanity, Insanity NG+... they will drop like flies. Time it right and you wont even take health damage.

ps: Currently doing a Soldier run  should be fun

Duck and cover at that Spitfire right off the elevator and wait. You wanna draw all 3 of them to the center. This will not take long to do so be ready to move. Once they are headed towards the center, I find it best to hook right. This will usually pull off one or two of them away. Just sprint all the way there.

Grab that Spitfire on the right side, if you don't have the one from teh center, and use the crates in that area for cover. If you can head shot with the Spitfire, you can almost stun lock them with constant dmg. If you don't have any way to drop their shields, then it will take almost the full clip to take down one of them.

Most likely the rest of your team will die and then all 3 will head towards you on the right. So by the time this happens you should have at least one of them killed. If they start to close in on you, now is the time to revive your squad. Don't rush to revive with medi-gel. You wanna pull them close to you so teammates can flank and then draw attention.

This should give you space to move if you have to. The key to the Geth Prime is timing out their shots. I believe they do 3 shot bursts.

In the begiining when you first get off the elevator, don't go for the Spitfire right away. Grab cover and after the first attack stand up, grab the spitfire, then take cover. If you do this you will take no dmg. I find it hard to grab the spitfire in that area coming off the elevator. For some reason I always take cover, but with that process I usually can get it fine.

I do this tactic on insanity all the time and it works. You should be able to beat it with any squad setup sense you can only use the Spitfires and win. It all about proper positioning and manipulating the enemy where you want them to go.

Tali's Sabotage, specced for cooldown. Makes the fight a joke on any difficulty

It was quite easy as a soldier...

just used the mini gun to take down the first one, and hlaf of the 2nd prime. Used the geth shotgun to finish both, coupled that with the disruptor ammo...

The best thing is to take down one fast, and run for that side, find another cover and just kill the others.

Never had a problem on this fight. My first run through I didn't even realize the heavy weapon was there until there was one prime left. If I remember correctly, I think Tali sabotaged the prime in the middle which helped Javik take out the prime on the right. I never saw or felt that one. The center prime dropped fast to my vanguard, and the one on the left walked into my shots from the heavy weapon.

As a Vanguard I found it easiest to charge the the right or left prime while simultaneously hacking it via Tali. Do as much damage as you can to the hacked prime without killing it i.e. stripping it's shields and denting its armor. By the time that one goes down you should be able to hack another prime...and the fight is easy from there.

Forget the Geth Minigun, it's garbage, by the time you get it going you have taken ten missiles to the face. Geth Pulse Rifle goes through their shields lot faster. Let Tali spam attack drone and they focus on drone instead of you.

Agreed. I found heavy weapons in general to be more trouble than they're worth in this game. I'd pick one up and find myself dead before I could figure out how to use it.

Middle one first. Then hug some wall and kill the other 2 prime. That was my tactic at Insanity and at first I didn't know there was a 3rd one coming from the left took maybe 10 seconds more than the other two to reach me. I had a unpleasant surprise but I lived to tell the tale.

If you can distract the Prime or make it aim at something else for a while, the Minigun is pretty nice. Once it builds up its momentum, the Prime will fall very fast.

[edit]
I like to go for the one on the right 1st because there is cover to shields me from the one in the middle and left.

I went for the one in the middle first. Used overload and warp/throw alongside my tempest and phalanx. Tali would spam the crap out of her drone. Garrus was with me and used overload along with AP ammo on his Javelin. Took care of the one on the right after that and then the left one.

I just ran straight for cover and everytime they were about to fire their pulse cannons at me, I'd stay in cover. Tali, Garrus and drony was enough to keep the fire away from me most of the time so that I could deal some heavy damage.

Or you could just pick up the heavy weapon that is next to the elevator (forget it's name) and down all 3 of them in under 30 seconds?

Good thing to remember is to focus your allies fire on one at the time. They do more damage when directed. It's a pretty fundamental thing, but easy to forget (for me at least).

well there is two mini guns in that place both to the right. i didn't check the left tho... and grab the first right off the get go and take down the middle one. then put the last rounds in the one to the right. when that runs out grab the second mini and finish him. you should have rounds left to make it a good fight for that last geth
