It's because they're looking at Glyph off-screen. Obviously, they shouldn't be, but since he was the last one to speak prior to them, they "focus" on him.

Watch the eyes in all conversations, sometimes if Shep is looking at something like Glyph, his/her eyes will rotate all the way around in their head XD
