well that's the problem overall. It was such a great game but doing what it did to the ending ruined it. If the game wasn't good and it had a stupid ending nobody would care. But there were so many emotional decisions that when in the end none of them mattered it really hurt.

i will wait until more details are released for a final jugement and if i will be trowing money at the screen or not.

i like bioware and whan to see them sucseed in any way
blue babies please :D

the game itself is epic and many more hours of gameplay for me.
still if nothing posetive comes out of the ending debacle i reject reality of the ending and supstitude my own
but i hope they fix it and include both bad and happy (blue babies production) outcomes in any way they see fit

so bioware MAKE ME PROUD TO BE A FAN

all those, granted, great emotional scenes were destroyed with the ending as well as the rest of the trilogy. re-playing ME3 as it stands now garners no 'returned' emotions towards those scenes. i can watch mordin die over and over now and not care because the ending ruined that connection.

Are we being unfair? no, not in the least. Its our responsibilty to show them just how disconnected the've become from their fanbase. Tossing us aside and hoping we'll 'take it' lying down is just as unfair.

As so many said already, a lot of people are considering mass effect 3 to be an amazing game overall, excepted those last 5 minutes.
I don't consider it unfair to tell them that we actually loved the game, the 3 games, but that this ending just doesn't fit in an epic saga like that.

Consider the following:

1) they get defensive about all of the criticism

2) they say that they will "clarify" (not change) the ending. meaning that we were too dumb to get it the first time around, so they'll explain it to us a bit slower. they're not addressing the fact that a major plot twist occured in the last 5 minutes of the game, and the ending they promised and advertised never actually happened.

3) they are making the ending DLC available for purchase later on. so, even if we paid $60 for the actual game, we won't know how it really ends unless we shell out some more money for it. they're famous for doing crap like this. in the DA series, shale was DLC. In ME3, Javik was DLC. Javik was $10. All we got was one mission and some stubborn prothean that had no knowledge of the crucible, and assisted in no way other than an average soldier.

if they gave us some respect, they might recieve some in return. if they treat us like fools, they better have their blast shields up and ready for tomato-tossing.

1) Can't blame them

3) Nothing is decided yet. Waiting till PAX.

3) Not decided yet either. No evidence.

1) You can if they asked for feedback, and are now hiding behind high ratings from critics, and deflecting negative comments.

2) According to ME twitter, they are "not changing, but will clarify" the ending. Muzyka also said this in several statements. I dont know about PAX but as of now, this is where it stands.

3) Evidence? Shale DLC still happened. Javik DLC still happened. And they already said they'll release more DLC regarding the ending.

They are a business after all, and their first and foremost interest is money, not their fanbase. So it's more than okay for consumers to be outraged by the lack of quality in a product they paid for. If their primary concern was keeping a loyal fanbase, then they'd respond to us in a better manner. And they would recieve respect in return. But as of right now, they just sold us a book, ripped out the last chapter, and now are going to sell it to us for an additional fee.

Oh, on a sidenote - I contacted the (german division of) Amazon and asked if I can get a refund for my already opened N7 edition. Their answer was: NO

You can't get a refund - that's simply not true. Period.

edit: They told me, if I was that unsatisfied with the product I should contact the publisher/studio and ask them for a deal.

BioWare only responds to insults and bashing... just look at the only time they respond to threads, its when insults and bashing occur.

Anyways, I'm gonna leave this here... :)

Most people I talk to will readily admit that the rest of the game is fantastic. We've been more than honest about that.

The ending is so abhorrent in part because it does a disservice to how great the game (and the trilogy, really) really is.

This. So no, I don't think we've been unfair. Jesus, Bioware is a company and they screwed up. It's not our job to say... But you tried!

I think there's plenty of blame to go both ways. Fans, for going on a rampage without taking a chill pill and just getting too emotional over the endings, insulting devs and the company left and right. BioWare for selling us a game that either wasn't complete or FAILED to do what THEY said it would and that is take into consideration our choices for the end game.

I don't know. At this point I'm just waiting for some sort of announcement regarding this "extra content" and see whether it's what we needed originally. However I'm not holding my breath.

This is just a reminder that, regardless of how you feel about the ME3 ending or BioWare, our Site Rules are still in effect. Like us or not, like Mass Effect 3 or not, there is never any call for swearing, disrespect towards our developers, or bashing of the company. Such behaviour is inappropriate for our community. We expect our community members to be able to disagree with us, our decisions, and our games with civility and maturity.

thank you.

You should crush them Mr. Woo. Crush them like the bugs they are. They are ants compared to the Divine BioWare. They are vermin and clutter; they can not comprohend the greatness set out by the Descended Gods  St. Casey and St. Mac. They speak of change, while we speak of 'Clarification'. Where they speak of listening to the fans, we speak of our great Prophecy. Destroy them; we have the Power of the great EA, we do not need fans like these, too idiotic to comprohend anything so great and spiritually inspiring as the Great Space Kid (which springs from the glorious leaders of BioWare). They should obey or die!

Brilliant! Exactly my thoughts! A nice painting with a screwed up face (ending). That's exactly what Mass Effect 3 is. A brilliant game with a nicely built up story and then a screwed ending with a lot of logical and lore errors (just like the Deception novel) and full of plot holes.

It's not a masterpiece, it's an OK Action game, not even an RPG...
there is so many wrong things with this game just because EA wanted to make it more attractive to the masses, but even I am ok with it because the story was kind of good...
And then the ending killed it all... No this game SUCKS ASS not only because of the ending but because the ending crushed the last good thing about this franchise: the story.
Now we have a GoW-like with dialogs and a ****ty story, enjoy your mass-market appeal everybody

That image says everything.

No, we are not being unfair. They aren't doing games for charity, they're doing games for a living. We are their costumers. We are the ones that buy their games and allow them to create games for a living. We shouldn't been complaining about not gettint the product they promised, we should be enjoying exactly what promised. And even if we just forget about all they promised about the ending choices, lets forget about that for a minute, imagine that we haven't read anything before the release. STILL, it was an insult to hear the reapers reasons, and see the wtf sequence with joker and teleporting cowards friends.

So no, we're not being unfair, in fact, we are being all fair we can be.
